Oh please. In typical Christian fashion, you want to blame everything on a fairy-tale "satan" instead of taking responsibility for your actions.

The real problem is that parents LET their children watch/play. I know, it's really "satan" that buys the flat-screen TV, PS3, iPhones, etc. for their kids then don't supervise them.

Kids relate to music - always have and always will. Their music is a reflection of their segment of society. The older generations always tend to think the stuff is obscene (in this case, it really is). I can't stand to listen to it not because of its content, but because of all lack of musicality - it really does suck.

It never ceases to amaze me that kids who are pushed through school and have no motivation to learn - barely reading and cannot even make change for a dollar - can recite the lyrics to every rap song written in the last ten years. You know that kid isn't dumb if he can do that, but he's going to be working at some dead end job and bitching about how nobody ever game him a chance while ignoring the fact that he had a chance but messed up - when he was just a kid and didn't know better and his parents didn't kick him off his sorry ass and make him do his homework. But that's OK, you can always blame the Baby Boomers for your underemployment (or lack of employment).

movies are 1000x more graphic and violent than video games.

games don't even look real, movies on the other hand are actual footage of real people and real scenery.

I've played games most of my life and have to turn away at vivid gruesome movie scenes.

I see that humans have always been attracted to violence and sex (gladiators and mass orgys in roman society being the most obvious example).

I'm not blaming violence on movies and games, they just REINFORCE our natural, evil, (from satan), tendencies to do bad. It's hard to not look at this from a spiritual standpoint. Our culture (the predominant first world countries) is based around capitalism/materialism. Feeding our materialistic desires only perpetuates our evil. Watching television is a material, secular desire. Playing video games is a material, secular desire. Having sex, or watching porn is a material, secular desire.

What we are getting at is that our society is perpetuating our evil tendencies that satan throws at us. If we continue at this rate without God's intervention, where will we be in the future?

I pray you stop using such IGNORANT and HARSH words in your IGNORANT responses.

Just remember, not all video games are sexual and violent.

Also remember the bible is very violent, as are some of the movies about it.

Which gets back to my comment on "content vs structure."

our young arent interacting with others out in the public, they sit a home for hours playing a game. What happened to baseball and sitting around and working on cars? They are in their own little world alone and when in the public they dont know how to interact with others,

Again, this is a "structure vs content" question. It's not the source of the content per se that's the problem; it's the structure/framework we fit it into.

When we were young kids, everyone went outside after school to play. We rode bikes, played all sorts of games, and didn't come in till it was dinner time. Everyone in the neighborhood knew everyone else, all the adults knew all the kids, and everyone was respectful and physically and socially active.

Things are so different these days.

Well Op's argument consist of probably a very basic knowledge of "Fps video games exist and are basically simulations of war and are popular."

Not all children play them or are "allowed" to. That is really the meat of the argument, If children are playing them, can you tell me why? I would say It is because their parents are allowing them too. Which in my opinion is wrong, my friend is 48 and plays what you call violent video games, however, he does this apart from them in his recording studio where they are not allowed to go. His boy only plays baseball and racing video games, his girls play Pokemon and the like on their Nintendo DS's.

Beyond that even in the gaming community there is a large division between fps lovers and gamers with other interests like rpg's, puzzle games like tetris, racing games, story line game like dreamfall that tell a tale rather than combat.
Hell I can go on.

Anyway I don't buy the "Just because it is out there it is evil and destroying our youth"

If your a parent and letting kids play games with excessive violence,gore,sex etc. etc. the blame would lay solely on the parent for letting the child play these games in the first place.

If you are an adult and play these games, so be it, play what you want. Just because someone plays call of duty or the like, they aren't going to be transformed into some psychopathic super-soldier roaming the street. Quite the opposite really.

As for me I'm not really into the CoD franchise or really any of the war simulation games out these days.

For fps games like Bioshock, F.E.A.R., Deus Ex is more my thing, and that is not even my main interest in games. I'm more into RPG's and the classics like Mario, sonic, castlevania, metroid, final fantasy, etc.

I play them simply for the challenge and entertainment.
It has not made me some desensitized drone that would not feel anything if I saw someone shot in front of me.

This is what I think has happened here in the US and grown even more pronounced during the previous century. Now, this thought is totally taken as "gospel", especially by young people. It is so totally destructive to them and our society in general. It completely negates GOD as the source of all life and truth and authority.

I just wanted to give you this to think about as well.

Sexual immorality and violence is in the bible because WE ALL are sinners. So it is natural, if not inevitable for that to be in the bible. You have to look past the surface my friend. Have a mature viewpoint on the bible. A realistic viewpoint, as well as a spiritual viewpoint, even a scientific/biological viewpoint.

I guess I don't understand what you are talking about. Are all kids this way? I remember playing from the morning til night when I was a kid. Now I have my own kids and all summer and after school everyday (unless it's raining) are out playing til bathtime. I have noticed all of the kids in my neighborhood are always outside. We have like 15 kids on our street that all play. Maybe it's just my neighborhood that does this, but I honestly don't see a problem with the kids as much as I do the parents!

5) Assassin’s Creed (Playstation 3/Xbox 360) – Main character is a Muslim assassin assigned to kill Christians.

6) Dragon’s Age Origins (Playstation 3/Xbox 360) – Game revolves around the story of God going mad and cursing the world. A witch attacks believers and players can “have sex” with her in a pagan act called “blood magic” so she can “give birth to a god.” Another scenario allows player to have sex with a demon in exchange for a boy’s soul.

7) Dante’s Inferno (Playstation 3/Xbox 360) – Loosely based on the Divine Comedy, player travels through nine circles of Hell, fighting demons, “unbaptized babies” and other tormented souls. (This game is being considered for a movie by Universal Pictures.)

8) Guitar Hero (Playstation) – Players use guitars decorated with pentagrams. God is repeatedly mocked by the devil and in the end, the devil is the hero of the game. Women dressed as Catholic school girls are degraded. (Rated “T” for teen)

Other games with Satanic themes are Darksiders, Koudelka, Trapt, and Bayonetta."

Hey, I figure that if Christians get to talk shit, and bad-mouth the "devil" and "satanists", it's only fair that they get to return the favor.

I mean it's not like any of you can prove the existence of these imaginary "God" or "Satan" characters anyway.

Some famous "artists" are even openly admitting that they sold their soul to Satan for fame and fortune.
