The Taliban has for years been systematically cultivating opium crops to pay for their weapons and government; the Russians know this and are under no illusions that somehow NATO is trying to addict the Russian population with Afghani dope. The fact that the corrupted Afghani regime still uses opium as major commodity to fund its warlords, is yet another NATO failure; to stop this inherent feudal society to adopt a more modern system of economy. False assumptions by NATO ideologues = systematic failure in achieving even the most mundane, remedial goals. This despite throwing billion$$ into this pit hole.
