Dumb are the people who don't understand what it means when a nuclear reactor is destroyed. It means it's not containing the radioactive material. If you look, there you'll find, as it shouldn't be a surprise, but to only the clueless.

The majority of people can't find their own asses with a roadmap. Certainly don't understand nuclear tech., nor do they want to. They remain oblivious by choice because the information is readily available with a few clicks.
The nuclear industry knows this and plays on it.
The only surprise will be when Oprah does a special on mutant Japanese babies and two-headed Panda Bears.

At last!! WTF has it taken so long for the MSM to report this? Anyone with a shred of common sense knew that this was inevitable from day one of the disaster....We are all FUBAR.

This is so fucked up people.

We can't grasp this. In less than 10-15 years we are going to have millions of people (assuming we are all still going till then) all getting sick at one time.

We have the worst economic problems of history to deal with, and is it still even uphill once that gets dealt with if it can.

How does one learn to not just slip away and disappear?

We've known this from the beginning of the disaster. The real question is will they eventually abandon the country over time?

Terrible that they're only just getting back to this now. A good portion of the Northern Hemisphere has probably already been fucking poisioned.. GLP was really on top of something for a change. Guess mankind is going to go out with a whimper rather than a bang.

I don't comprehend how anyone could ignore this. I guess they simply find it too confusing and/or scary.

To make it clear:

Strontium-90 is an radioactive isotope with half-life of 28 years. The reason why it is so dangerous is that the electric charge its electric charge is +2 (the same as calcium),this makes it capable of taking the place of calcium in the human bone which is up to 50% made of hydroxylapatite Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2. What happens next is that the radiation from the strontium-90 bombards your bone marrow with radiation to the point where it damages the DNA inside the cells (It scrambles the atoms in the DNA molecule). After that, this cells with the new DNA will duplicate faster than the normal cells and you now you have a condition called Leukemia.

This sucks big time and I hate the way the MSM is totally ignoring it, but before we get too overwrought, does anyone have any idea how the amount of strontium 90 that has been/is being released from Fuku compares with the thousands of aboveground nuke tests conducted in the 50's and 60's?

I remember reading that the worldwide level of Strontium 90 was elevated for years after these tests were banned - but how much cancer could be attributed to these tests?

F&*K CNN and their newly formed new assessment about Fukushima

I remember watching CNN in the first days of disaster and that moron Dr. Sanjay Gupta telling everyone that its nothing worse that Tokyo's normal background radiation, and nothing anyone should be concerned about!!. Then I saw an overnight CNN int'l reporter in Tokyo with a supposed radiation monitor on her vest that was getting more than half Black and that was the last I saw her doing any report from Tokyo. Then then next thing knew CNN had taken most if not all of their crew out of Japan and where doing their "assessments" from the U.S.

I think CNN has no credibility what so ever when it comes to reporting factual new; everything has a slant depending on the side of the highest bidder of how that information is reported.

The fact that CNN has now decided to jump on board about actual radiation levels in Fukushima, as more to do with appearance of being objective than being actually a proper news agency.

I for one say all the officials who are responsible
for this unforgivable catastrophe should be thrown
into the the reactor cores.

It won't stop the radiation but it's
a step in the right direction.

Well one could tell the truth, and evacuate Tokyo, but where do we move all those people, worlds full...

If you know how radiation acts in the food supply, you know it stores up in plants and animals, the higher on the food chain, the more radioactive build up.
This means that every person and animal in the effected area becomes a radiation storage tank.

Anyone interested in taking in a few extra people in your home or yard for the next 20k years?
