There are warning labels of some goods imported..WARNING THESE GOODS ARE MADE WITH SUBSTANCES THAT CAN CAUSE CANCER...WTF?

it shows how food is really produced in the u.s.

besides, even if something is "made in the u.s.a.", it doesn´t mean its ingredients are local. same for products. in fact, it´s unlikely you´d be able to live on stuff made in the u.s. only.

besides, "made in" tells you nothing about quality or safety, be it china, the u.s., europe or wherever. (except maybe fukushima...)

Well, so do cigarettes. I think that is at least the choice of the consumer to decide to use the product or not.

The main point is that it is labeled. If there was no warning than people would not know it was potentially dangerous. I dont think the government should decide what is and is not dangerous for us, that is a slippery slope that I dont want to go down.

Agreed. I still think it is good to know where the product came from if one so chooses to. Our country needs jobs, not just "good" 100k jobs, but the jobs that manufacturing and production companies provide. When the USA had those jobs we didnt have welfare. We didnt need welfare because there were jobs that were not college degree requiring jobs where one could start at minimum wage and work their way up to a decent salary if they were a good employee.

I just think that our country needs to provide more of these type jobs and get the ever growing government handout population from increasing. It would give them a little self esteem too. Its a win win.

Thus DISTr by one in the USA yields a 0 number.

Bar codes are NOT always from Point of Origin.

Check your products again. Every Made in China thingie I have, has 0 for first number, and Distribution was USA.

Do you remember a few years ago when walmart commercials used to say american made, keeping america working and all that stuff? When is the last time you saw them advertise like that? They dont only carry american made stuff anymore.

I saw recently that if people spent another $10 a month that it would employ millions if the was made in the USA goods.

I try not to buy Chinese shit, most of their products are full of poisons. And Customs doesn't check until people are dieing, drywall, milk, dog food, cosmetics, the list is really long. Their country is so polluted that they mix the toxic shit in during the manufacturing process to export it rather than deal with environmental controls in their country.

I never try to buy anything made in China, if I can help it.

In fact, I even threw away all my coffee cups that were from there.

No, its all products. You should call that company and find out for us. That would mean that it says made in canada but actually products came from china. This is what we are talking about.

The govt is aware that some of us want to know, they just dont want to tell. This system is supposedly how they track import/exports.

good find op. too bad ther are some things made in the us though that we arent told whats in it though. for example if you call general mills and ask them where they get ther corn from for the cereal they make they will tell u they dont track that kind of info, no joke, they actually told me this when i called the number on the side of the box. just a side note though.
