This object I have SEEN four weeks has not moved from the same path, that the sun takes at all, it just appears bigger every week.

how about reading what people have posted. Two of us have linked you to data (even pictures and graphs) that show that it is Mercury.
This TLDNR crowd makes me want to push the societal reset button myself. Simon Ordo would be very disappointed.

trust me i did several hours of looking at that silly video made on a friging cell phone, by the way i found that out too.
then went to star charts and more, check days and times where people were when they saw this. looked at the charts again then i said it was mercury.

Well, yes...actually...pretty close to the same position.

Both the Earth and Mercury are orbiting the sun in the same direction (Only Venus and Uranus orbit counter-clockwise) and Mercury is on the opposite side of the sun. Considering how long it takes us to orbit the sun, it's entirely within reason that it would remain near the same location for quite some time - but will eventually make its way further away from the sun as we catch up to it.

I'm going to go to the top of a local mountain at about 5,000 feet elevation with my 5D Mark II with a 400mm lens and a 2x extender. The location has a perfect line of sight on the sun all day through sunset.

If these people and their poop cameras can pick this up all over the world, I think my equipment will provide excellent results.

Well I might be reading this wrong, but it seems to me mercury is rising after sunset not seting at sun set here in the southern hemisphere, so the object I see is not mercury its something else Mercury is off to the right going up, the object I observe is in the absolute direct line of the sun going down at that time.....SORRY

As I noted yesterday, Venus is now visible from where I live. It's lucky I live fairly close to the ocean, as you really need to have a clear unobstructed horizon to see Venus in the twilight. However, it will climb higher in the evening sky as the month progresses, until it dominates our early evening skies.

Bright white Venus is now is now readily visible low in the evening western twilight sky from around half an hour after sunset.

Mercury is just visible below Venus at the beginning of the week, and becomes more prominent, and closer to Venus, as the week wears on.

I remain unconvinced, but then I don't just believe what everyone says. Science generally requires multiple experiments to prove a theory almost 100%. If enough people from GLP can find this object in the sky, post videos, photos, heat signatures,etc, it will go viral, and thence to media internationally. No media blackout can happen if everyday people like OP see it and post it. But as yet that hasn't happened. So I apologise but forgive me if I'm not going to just go with it.

Perhaps, OP, you should play Henry Fonda from 12 Angry Men and make it your duty to convince us? Keep presenting the evidence if you believe it is worth following and then we will come around.

If it is more than a cloud/lens flare/anomoly, and you discovered it, we will give you plaudits. But personally I need more to go on, sorry.

I don't discount it as it is a possibility, but do reject it on the basis of probability. If it is there, it is there and would be there every day for millions to see.

I go with the 'there are thousands of amateurs out there' argument. There are just too many telescopes in too many observatories for there to be a wall of silence. Human nature decrees that if it is discovered, the finder would be going apeshit in the astronomy community and all telescopes would be zooming in on it and there would be thousands of photographs within days - totally viral on just about every forum on the web.

So until this happens it will always remain a possiblity and no amount of photos and videos are going to convince me otherwise.

If it was a well-known planet (Mercury, Saturn, Venus, whatever) it wouldn't persist in the same place during that long period of time - a couple of days. Planets are moving constantly. It's my humble opinion at least

I have the ability to look directly at the sun and I have yet to see any such object. I will try and look at it sometime at sunrise.... but until I see something myself, I call BS or artifact/lens flare.
