Re: PENNY AUCTIONS - ZIINGA A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am currently dealing with them now. $88.66 plus another $2 came out of my account today. What they told me was that I'd won an item via their promotional auction. Part of the deal for this promotion is that i subscribed to their Platinum membership for three months with a corresponding monthly fee of 89.99 AUD per month. I never agreed to this but they still took it out. Now I am fighting to get that money back plus the money i paid for the auctions!!!! I will fight til the death!

People think Ziinga is a scam but it's not. I won an iPad for EUR70 with 45 bids, you just need to watch the auctions closely and bid wisely.

Do not just go and bid on everything, when there are 10 minutes of an auction remaining, do not bid - wait till the last seconds, wait and bid in the right time.

Do yourselves a favor and attend a true LIVE Auction!!!

go to auctionzip.com and type in your zip-code and choose how many miles you are willing to travel ie: the choices are 30,50,100,150 miles from the dropdown menu....this brings up a calender of the current month and you click the date you are interested in...it displays the Auctions on that day in the area you chose.

Auctioneers like myself list our Auctions there with a detailed description and in most cases pictures so you can see and get a general idea of what will be sold at that sale

Good Luck and Enjoy!

Got us too!

The prize was a digital camera for $1.50, which is clever because we weren't that excited about it, so forgot rather than sitting around waiting for it to come.

Four months later we realised we hadn't received it, so we trawled through the credit card details, and found the $1.50 charge, followed by four monthly charges of $89.99. At the time, we didn't even remember the name of the guys selling the camera, so it took us a few phone calls to connect the two. The only reason Ziinga stood out on our credit card statement was because it was the only name we didn't know!

Looking more, we found that an account had been automatically set up, with a random name ("pageuser125" kind of thing), a fake date of birth and so on.

The credit card's been cancelled, and a dispute's been opened. We'll wait and see how it turns out.

Ziinga seem pretty clever. To use a low value product to get you in, but not get you so interested that you actually care about getting what you paid for, so you don't bother checking! I think they deserve every penny they scam out of idiots like us!

not all penny auctions are scams... I bid on the sites listed www.pennyauctionsites.com - It's kind of like poker - psychological games.

I've won a ton of stuff over the past year.

The "scam" is you trying to get an ipod nano for $4...

Come on! Do you really think they are just giving shit away for free? Really?

If it sounds too good to be true, it is!

Re: PENNY AUCTIONS - ZIINGA A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Common sense should make anyone understand that 95% off or so is completely impossible. First, in order for them to win, the cost of getting the stock of products should be lower than the final prices, which means products cost almost nothing, which is impossible unless they steal them. Second, and perhaps more evident, is that why would a real auction for a real good quality product stop at 95% of their original value? Why would not anyone bet a pence more? In fact, if auctions were real, prices should sell perhaps at 80-90& of their original prices. But an ipad at 6 dollars, come on!!! I would pay 20!! 40!!!....

Re: PENNY AUCTIONS - ZIINGA A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fine people at Ziinga my arse!

This person is deluded and probably quite wealthy the rest of the robbing twats at ziinga.com a little bit of internet research reveals a whole lot of extremely upset victims of this bunch of crooks. At least if you were mugged in the street you'd have something to show for it, albeit broken bones and bruises but with this lot all you'll have is an empty bank account. As I see it there are at least three things we can do to hit back at these robbers, firstly bite the bullet at your embarrassment at having been caught out by their scam, make up a page on Facebook or any other social network explaining how they operate and how they’ll rip you off if you have anything to do with them and include their logo so everyone recognises who you are on about, send it to everyone you know on Facebook and invite them to send it to everyone they know. Secondly don’t let up on pursuing them on getting your money back, if all the victims bombard them with emails which will be everyone they have dealt with it shouldn’t be long before they can’t cope with the volume of complaints. Thirdly report them to your local Trading Standards Office and other public authorities as well as television consumer programmes such as the BBC Watchdog. Finally a tip that if you do get suckered into dealing with this bunch of crooks I hope will save you a bit of money £28.00, if when you realise you have been scammed DO NOT contact ziinga.con until after you have contacted your bank and cancelled the credit card whose details were used by ziinga.com to rob you of your first £60.00. You may have to wait a few days for a replacement card but it’s well worth it to stop those b***tards getting another penny from you. Only after contacting your bank and being sure they won’t pay that bunch of crooks another penny contact them and tell them to poke their membership where the sun don’t shine! No need to worry about any court proceedings against you, so unfair is their way of doing business I doubt there is a court in the land that would side with them. Bitter, you bloody bet I am but I’m not alone.

Re: PENNY AUCTIONS - ZIINGA A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I in fact did read the Ts&Cs of this and it quite clearly states that Ziinga offers various memberships:
Membership
Ziinga offers different types of memberships, each with a corresponding monthly fee.

All members get to enjoy value added benefits:

Extra bids for bid package purchases
Free shipping
Free bid
Bid-for-Free auctions
Daily Bid Agent

Once you become a paying member, you can review the benefits and the price of your membership by going to "My Account".

However when you click to accept the T&Cs you are automatically signed up to the platinum membership to which you are charged £59.99 per month and 3 months are binding.

There are definately NO other membership options, so isnt that them breaking their T&Cs?

Came across this forum while googling for info on Ziinga after finding myself on their "introductory" auctions page.

Glad I read this before getting suckered in.

A little puzzled though as to why GLP has ads for Ziinga down the side of the forum pages??? wtf

Also, people don't be stupid enough to believe this crap. It's common sense not to trust sites like these.
I noticed that most items, for instance, ok nvm. 90% off? THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS SHIT WOULD EVER BE BROUGHT TO SUCH DISCOUNT. Unless you were high or something but other than that. They wouldn't be making a profit of selling items that are 90%~ off the original price. They would never cover the initial price, so what is the point ?

THINK ABOUT IT…

To all around the world who have been scammed by Ziinga, contact the bank you have your credit or debit card with and do a chargeback.

All UK people can join consumeractiongroup.co.uk a free consumer advice forum for help. Others can have a read, it might be relevent in your country.

God - these Ziinga people are a PIECE OF WORK!!!!

I think we should all bombard them with multiple emails.

They are based in Malta and their bank is in the Cayman Islands

Why don't we get Al Quada to do some damage?

Any Al Quada out there looking for a target?
