Are women allowed into Freemasonry? I've heard from some sources that they are and from others that they aren't. Also, what is the required age to become a Mason?

Actually, I wouldn't be surprised at poor spelling skills among masons.
I come from a family involved in the masonic lodge. My father is a 33rd degree mason. Although I don't know all of the titles, I know he went all the way through Blue Lodge including Royal Arch, was involved in York Rite, and also Scottish Rite. Both my parents were deep into Eastern Stars also (a branch of the organization that allows women). They were grand lodge officers at one point. My sisters and I were brought in to Rainbow Girls, for girls 12-17. When we reached 18 we were expected to join Stars, and did. When I became a Christian I renounced the organization.
But, I digress. There were many men that I knew in Masons that were likely barely literate. Masons does not care if they can spell well. While I consider my father intelligent, and believe many are, it's not necessary. They want males who will follow their rules and take speaking roles. If they have difficulties, other men help them out. It's like many organizations. They need all types. Intelligence isn't mandatory.
But whether he can spell or whether he needs to be able to has nothing to do with whether or not this man is a mason. I don't think he is from the way he ducks and weaves. I believe he's a poser.

Lodge isn't necessarily specific to the street address, depending on what he means by lodge. I was under the impression being a part of a lodge is like being part of the 'moderns' or 'antients' for example.

Whoa, I loved that show and the truth was by far the best episode, this guy sure looks like he has a brass set.
