For example, I go to a bank to borrow money, that is OTHER people's money,to buy my house. The bank says OK you can have the loan at X interest rate. I can afford this payment and provide proof to the bank AND the home is WORTH what I am paying for it ON THAT DAY. The bank gives me the money and I agree to pay them back. My home drops 30% in value over the next 18 months,how does that change ANYTHING that me and the bank agreed to? If the home INCREASED 30% should the bank demand MORE payments? If not why should I expect a lower payment? If I lose my job,how does that change ANYTHING I agreed to? If I got a better paying job,should the bank demand more payments? Why is the bank bad for wanting to protect the deposits of other people? The bank didn't just lend you some of their money,they gave you some money of your neighbors also. So when I go to withdraw a few thousand to buy a car and I'm told sorry but people decided we were bad for lending them money and we only have a few hundred right now...should I be upset with my bank or folks who didn't pay what they promised to pay ? Is one MORE responsible than another ? I understand losing a job and the house goes bye bye, that sucks. Ok, so how many people must be injured cause you can't pay what YOU promised? OK, can't pay..leave the house, give back the car whatever..it's NOT yours...YOU NEVER paid for it and it's NOT the banks fault. See the bank didn't care if the house tripled in price, they get paid the same or dropped..they get paid the same...inflation plus 2% is your mortgage rate...why does that make banks bad -evil ? AND if you don't like banks....CREDIT UNIONS are a legal, moral alternative...I have used both and found CUsa bit nicer to deal with BUT they always wanted to be paid back...odd.
I think crooks should be hanged and if a bank lied, falsified loan docs...string em up, I'll get the rope...but if YOU fell on hard times, don't blame the people who believed you.

You did not borrow other people's money, it was created out of thin air when the note was signed and never actually existed. That is why the entire financial system is a scam and loans from banks should not be repaid.

95% of banks and probably 99.99999% of bank employees are victims of the Federal Reserve fiat money scam.

This is a separate issue from the use of *assumed* money in borrowing/lending contracts.

If you agree to borrow 100 Unicorn Coupons and pay back 110 Unicorn Coupons, pointing out the fact that the coupons cannot be redeemed for actual unicorns doesn't release you from your moral obligation.

The banks you borrow money from, the clerks and managers, are not engaged in fraud. The Fed is, and they are just as much victims as we are, if not more so.

WE, the OWS crowd is a mixed bag. Some of them are simply evil radicals who would do anything to achieve their marxist goals. Some are your average liberals who believe in government as their god. Others are naive, wide-eyed kids who don't understand that sinful, barely sane human beings lack the capability to create heaven (or even worldwide Disneyland) on earth.

The teens and 20-Somethings have been indoctrinated since birth and all through elementary school, high school and college. Their parents have been either too busy or too clueless to set them straight. All we can do is hope and LITERALLY PRAY that they somehow find a moment of clarity that will show them a glimmer of truth of what their world REALLY is, which will then set them on the road to discovery of more and deeper truths.

In my early youth, I leaned very much to the left. I was liberal and actually respected politicians like Ted Kennedy. Once I even voted for Jerry Brown for President(!) I believed in Big Government and really thought that government had all the answers and could pretty much supply my needs.

But gradually, over time, I came to see how corrupt government was and how it cynically used well-meaning people. I discovered what liars politicians are and how America had drifted so far from what our Founding Fathers originally intended. I grew sick at heart at seeing how much of our hard-earned tax money was being wasted. I was shocked to see how our lives were being increasingly regulated and controlled by government. And I became angry at realizing just how much was wrong with where I was at.

Eventually, I wholeheartedly embraced conservatism because I sensed far more foundational truth there than in liberalism. And after having lived on both sides of the fence for extended periods, I discovered what many ex-liberals have learned: that people on the left are generally FAR more Godless, intolerant, mean-spirited, selfish, and non-patriotic than those on the right.

Those in the Occupy Movement comprise just a small minority of Americans. The radicals are hopeless, short of a miracle from God. But the liberals and kids can still change. I know how frustrating it can be even trying to have a reasonable dialog with them. But who knows -- you just may plant a seed in one of them that will finally sprout somewhere down the road of his or her life!

I remember that Jerry Brown for Pres shit. My mom had me convinced he was the man. I was like 10. I think it was the last time I believed that a liberal was the answer to some question I didn't really understand.

I thank God every day for people like you. Men whose intellectual honesty and appreciation of logic mean more than the momentary ego or temporary peer acceptance. That takes one *hell* of a strong character to achieve. Or an epiphany. And I don't even care which of those two GPS mechanisms brought you to reason. I'm just glad we've got a parking space and a hot dog and balloons reserved for ya.

BTW, I hate the term "conservative". And I don't have an alternative label for "Does not jettison proven mechanisms of advancement and stability in favor of theoretical fantasies to solve hypothetical problems for which there are no current terms because it's all make believe bullshit".

I'm rude to them because I despise those who'd willingly, gleefully and with no compunction destroy our Republic (what's left of it) with the only reason being (besides their innate helplessness & leech-like attributes) their inability to comprehend 'the big picture' of the genesis & ultimate goals of their 'movement', who's behind it, and the morass of anarchy & destruction that would be left in its wake should it succeed... they sicken me.

Irrelevant. Not the facts which is irritating. The sight of OWS daily for the past month has caused me to develop an extreme hatred of those 3 letters and sight of it gives me overwhelming urges to punt kittens into the ocean.

I find it annoying they cant even voice an opinion on here without getting it deleted. I dont support them but its a shame.

I was pretty liberal in college, myself.

It wasn't until AFTER I GTFO of there and joined the real world that I began to realize that everything (except physics, aerodynamics and calculus) I learned in college was total bullshit.

The technical shit I learned in college was outstanding, but everything else smacked of lefttardism.

Can anyone really say for sure why OWS is happening? Are you 100% sure what you are saying is the complete, accurate truth?

It seems like there is a lot of generalizing going on. How do we know anyone is in charge of organizing this?
