Moving to Nashvile, any reccomended places to go/things to do?
Hey GLP,
I'll be moving to Nashville for several weeks for training and certification for new job as a Tower Technician.
So I turn to you, to see if anyone here from the area can tell me any of the interesting places to go (non-touristy). I love the hidden jems of cities that usually take locals to find.
Any help is appreciated.
Thus far all I've found that seems interesting is the Beer Cellar bar, and Pre to Post Modern store.

Also, I'm not much of a country fan, so none of the obvious country music stuff :p lol

Lot's of entertainment and history in Nashville.

Printers Alley, Ryman Auditorium, Bluebird Cafe, The Hermitage (home of President Andrew Jackson, a man the Banksters could not buy or kill), The Parthenon, The Basement, B.B. Kings, etc... etc...

Eat at Gerst Haus, Prince's Hot Chicken Shack, Stock-Yard Restaurant, Loveless Cafe, and The Pig & Pie.

Enjoy.

Lots of music here besides country music- check out writer's nights like Monday's at McFaddens...hop over to the 5 spot in East Nashville afterwards. Lots of great new restaurants in the 12th south area like Burger Up and the Fish House...head on down to the Gulch when you're done for some more sophisticated nightlife.

I'm also looking for tattoo shops and pool halls,
I will be making pretty good money so I will be adding to the tattoos I already have.
I'm also pretty good at pool; I've won a few tournaments here. So I'd love to find some place to hussle a few tables.

Re: Moving to Nashvile, any reccomended places to go/things to do?
Well......The VERyyyyyy first thing you will DEFINATELY want to do, is make SURE you have an exterminator come in every 3 mo. to spray for brown recluse spiders....after they spray (now make sure you have 2-3 packs of these on hand BEFORE the guy comes to spray!!!) You can get these at Walmart by the dishwashing liquid. They are called: "TOMCAT GLUE BOARDS"(red, white package with light mint green highlight.there are 4 boards to a pack. for about $2.69???
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PURCHASE THE "CATCH MASTER" BOARDS....ive watched the wolf spiders walk right off of them...they suck!!!!
After the exterminator sprays...lay the glue boards down flat under your sofa, entertainment center, beds, dressers, bedroom closets, behind toilets, and in your laundry rooms. that way when the guy sprays, you will be able to tell where the spiders are coming from that way the extermin...can check for nesting on his next appt. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL YOUR SHOES BEFORE PUTTING THEM ON, and also your clothes, and check your bed before crawling in at night. Usaually they only bite when they are against the skin, like if you rollover on one in the middle of the night, or say put your shoes on and not know one is in your shoes. Also, Tennessee DOES have poisonous snakes, so 'IF' your home is in a wooded area, or even close ....check to see which species are indiginous to your area. Wear gloves if working with wood/ woodpiles, in sheds, attics, basements, because thats one mean critter if you get bitten!!Hopefully that will never happen ....Best of luck & happiness on your move. watch those mountains at night....lol
