Where did you get the idea that Gadaffi wanted to help the starving people in the Horn of Africa? What in either of those articles supports that?

The only people Gadaffi gave two shots about were Libyans from his own tribe. He lavished them with huge public projects like the irrigation tunnels and brutally subjugated everyone else.

The videos of his death don't make pleasant watching, and I would have preferred him to live to stand trial, but I'm certainly not shedding any tears over this asshole.

When I see pics of him online, I feel like I failed him. I feel a great pain in my heart, I can't look him in the eye. I did nothing to help him and his people. The free apartments they're living in will no longer be free, they will now pay a light bill, no more large amounts of unemployment benefits, free schooling, healthcare, and free seeds to farmers. I think the last thing our elites want to see are more, certainly well-fed Africans. At least they can make money off the starving ones by pretending to run programs to help them. I know...I worked for one academic program whose response to international crises was to develop goldbricking projects to increase their own jobs and salaries.
