Anonymous Coward User ID: 840919 Netherlands 10/21/2011 09:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Do you monkeys really think that this money goes to "the greeks" it s going to those already stuffing their pockets... Jesus how can you all be so ignorantly stupid? This is money-laundering on a colossal scale on behalf of the banks and their CEOs... just with scapegoats involved... a nation of mere 10 million can NEVER make so much debt... has everyone been taking stupid pills or what>? Quoting: Dynamitrios 1. the money does go to greeks. your politicians are greek. all the salaries and pensions are paid in greece, with borrowed money. so, it does go to greeks. 2. even if the politicians had stolen all of the money, citizens would still be responsible because that´s whom representative power was delegated to. 3. it doesn´t matter if you guys are only 10 mln. greece´s debt per capita is similar to that of italy. 4. can greece pay? nope. so, the lenders will have to take a loss. 5. the most important issue, however, are reforms. we´re like pouring money into a colander: it will never fill, unless we plug the holes first. Kick them out of the Euro-zone, but don't let them default. Let them pay off in Dragma's for eternity. BUT DON'T EVER LET THEM DEFAULT! We want every single penny back! Impossible? The EU is comming up with new rules without a democratic process all the time. Kick them out and let them pay back in Dragma's! Be done with it already! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3756275 collectively, as a country, you took up the debt yourself. individually, however, you´re right: you did not decide about the debt. (you could decide to emigrate, in which case you would not be responsible for the debt... only residents are) in any case, it is obvious that our system is badly faulty. this is the reason just about all western countries are overindebted. there are several reasons for this. one further problem is that the system is unlikely to reform itself adequately. more likely, it will collapse. so, interesting times are ahead. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 840919 Netherlands 10/21/2011 09:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 840919 They should get off their ass and start working! Same goes for you! Work motherfucker! Earn your money! Why is it, that only mediterranian countries are in need for bail-outs? Answer me that? Denmark has even a smaller population as Greece, do you see them begging for handouts? NO!!! The average greek works like crazy, also doesnt get a paycheck without almost 50% taxes taken from him (they get the check AFTER the taxesare withdrawn, so no one can dodge them)... its the public sector thatstuffed it s pockets and is way too large... dont blame the average working greek for somethin only a small percentage has done, get your facts straight... Well maybe if you Greeks had gotten of your asses a little sooner, you wouldn't be paying 50% taxes. Now..... it's too little to late, DUH! greece is actually irrelevant. italy is the real problem. but who can blame these countries, when they just kept doing what they always did? they also could borrow and waste only because there were willing lenders. every country in the eu knew what was happening in greece or italy... and decided to let the problem grow out of hand. also, the euro was organized and managed (rather poorly) by the stronger countries, not by greece. i don´t think it´s fair to only blame the weaker countries. indeed, being able to pull the scam off for so long is the worst thing that could happen to them. had the problem been tackled sooner, they could have avoided much of the pain that is unavoidable now. No, it was Germany and France who pushed for Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal to enter the Euro-zone. Too much, too fast. We should´ve started off with a Northern Euro zone only. Nevertheless nobody put a gun against their head to make them join. Those Mediterranian nations got to much pride and too little to show for. And furthermore there is no excuse for their irresponsible behaviour. Tanks? You got to be joking..... |

How about i kick you in the head and you pay my debt, i can arrange it. not having its own currency is a problem for greece, italy and the rest. the currency would devalue and there would be an immediate shift towards domestic products. this already would create employment. a readjustment at the currency level also has a lesser impact on the people, especially the poor. now, with the euro, it´s internal prices that have to be forced down. but they don´t go down together at the same rate. salaries decrease more than costs. some categories are protected and will resist salary decreases much more effectively than other. this is brutal for the poor and a great opportunity for the rich: they can protect their money better and then come back and buy everything for pennies... with the drachma, it would be better (still bad, but better) than with the euro. but it would be easier if germany left the euro. so many countries need a weaker currency and it would be easier for them to refinance themselves with a shared currency already in use. it would be good for germany too, since germany´s public debt is denominated in euros and it would depreciate itself. germany could also help the weaker countries by importing much more from them and investing there. germany could benefit by having lower inflation and interest rates. |

Don't you think they could have figured out they owed a little too much a long time ago? I guess not...neither can the U.S. and UK seem to figure out that debt cannot go on forever. Especially debt owed to corrupt International bankers. |
