Good link, but that's just a small part of a large book. The whole thing is really a great and worthwhile read.

I am not discrediting all the American Natives accounts of a "healer God" who traveled amongst them. But, seriously...

A TIGER?

I also understand that there were could have once been big cats in the Cherokee neck of the woods...

but I doubt it would be called "a tiger" - even in translation.

Also, Quatzequatel is a Mayan God who is seen as a feathered serpent. - I don't think that sounds like Jesus to me.

Jesus - is just one name for a common lord, who has appeared at many times for many reasons and in many forms throughout history.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 2818807

The Mayans worshiped the Lord after He visited them and taught them the ways of His Father in heaven. Read the book if you want to learn more about the names each tribe gave Him and why. They were all allowed to name Him whatever they wanted as He didn't care about the name they called Him.

Words often get mixed up in translation. Maybe they meant panther or cougar.

The whole white man / healer legend throughout many pre mayan civilizations is well known throughout central america. It is also one of the reasons a warfaring civilization like the Aztecs accepted Cortez (initially) as the return due to the legend.

I'm not saying for sure the legend is Jesus or not, but it's a neat notion worth looking into.

The name for the Jaguar in all of Mexico, Central and South America is El Tigre--the tiger.
Jaguars still range at times into Arizona, Texas, and California. In the past, there have been reported sightings in numerous other states. "Tiger" is also a common surname of the Seminole and some other tribes.
In his book, "Between Two Ages," Brzezinski wrote: "The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values."

As He traveled from tribe to tribe, the women would all make Him new white robes and the men would all make Him new golden sandals because they knew that He would then leave the old ones behind, and they cherished His discarded clothing.

Wow.......to think that He walked through the state of Georgia, Mississippi, Arizona, Wyoming.....it's just awesome.

According to the mayans, Quetzalcoatl returns when their calendar ends, which is either Dec 21, 2012... or in 5 days from now.

Thank you for this post! I always wanted to know more about this Quetzalcoatl character, didn't realize that I already did. :)

Re: Cherokee Account of the Great Healer
Lisa I have mentioned on this forum several times that in fact Paul was the enemy of the Jesus movement and that Jesus was always regarded as the Righteous Teacher sent from the Creator.

This is further backed up by the Clementine Homilies where Peter even talks about how Jesus has incarnated all over planet earth to teach those who cry out when there is no teacher.

This book did not get voted into the christian cannon though because it exposes Paul as the false Apostle that he was.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1530791

I"m failing to see the connection between this book and Paul. I'll never believe that paul was a false apostle, no way. He lived and died for Christ.
 Quoting: Lisa*Lisa

I'm not a historian, but I have heard that there were two Paul's.

The first was the Apostle who followed Christ. The second was an evil man who came after Christ's death who passed some of his work off as the original Paul's work.

It wasn't long after the death Of Christ, that the devil found a way to pervert his gently message.

Again, not a historian. But I have heard this from several sources. (None that I can link to obviously.)

The Bible as we know it was put together many years after all the Apostles were dead. So that there was no-one alive to tell the real from the fake.

This is important and now you see why the Indians needed to be conquered. It is about erasing the teachings and dividing. A long hard battle for the Devil to keep the world divided and void of peace. The easiest people to lead are those who are lost. This battle has been going on forever.

Re: Cherokee Account of the Great Healer
Recently, I finished reading a book called He Walked The Americas by L. Taylor Hansen. This book has impacted me more then most other books I've read about the Lord.

I had no idea that Jesus traveled extensively throughout all of the Americas, central america, north america, and south america and taught all of the indian tribes the ways of love, peace, compassion and forgiveness, the way of His Father as He put it. Many of the tribes followed Him and did away with their wars, sacrifices and other "ways of the jungle".

It's written by a highly regarded scholar in the field with masters degrees in archaeology, anthropology and geology from Standford University. She is an authority on the indians of North and South america, having studied among them for well over 30 years.

Every tribe accounts their own stories of when the Great Healer came and stayed with them and taught them things from The Father in heaven. These accounts have been verbally passed down from generation to generation, but much is being lost as the tribes are scattering and traditions are being lost.

Below is one of my favorite accounts in the book, I hope you enjoy it too and take the time to check it out of your local library. It's well worth the read, and it goes into detail about where the Mayan people went and why they left. They are still there, hidden away in the deepest parts of the uninhabited jungle awaiting Jesus's return. He warned them of the coming of the white man and told them to flee for their lives. Extremely fascinating stuff.

"One of the most charming of all the prophet legends is that told by the Cherokee Nation. Once as the Healer walked in the forest, deeply troubled by thoughts of the future, He came upon a fawn in a pool of moonlight.

Its coat was blue and sliver, its legs were weak for it was hungry and it could not find its mother. The Healer spoke to it, “Silver flecked babe of the forest, where is thy mother? Which path did she take when she left the?”

The forest child looked at Him sadly then turned toward a dim path. Unhesitantly, the great man followed. Not far away they came to a bower, and there among the leaves lay the mother. She had been clawed unmercificully by the tiger, but in leading away the huge cat she had saved the forest infant.

The Healer knelt, gently stroked her torn and bleeding body until at last she stood erect beside Him. His disciples, who had been following Him at a distance, so that no harm would come to Him, saw the miracle happen.

They stopped and stared with eyes unbelieving as the doe nuzzled her fawn. “Art tho not afraid?” his disciples said to him, “that by using thy power on the animal kingdom, someday it shall all be gone when you most desire it?”

“Nay, smiled the pale one, there can not be too many deeds. Such is a manner of compassion. A lost lamb is my fathers business, as important as saving a nation if one need not choose between them. More precious in my fathers eyes is a good deed then the most exquisite jewel.”

His disciples knelt to touch His white robe where the dark crosses stood out in the moonlight.

 Quoting: Lisa*Lisa

Hello friend the part about the crosses on his robe . Was that in this book or did you just throw that in ?
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.Praise the one who gives you peace beyond all understanding Yes that scripture still sounds good !
