from the few hours of research that I've done on this A.I. pedo-issue, it looks a lot like A.I. SHOULD HAVE BEEN A WHOLE LOT MORE FISTY AND RAW than the charmless crap Spielberg exuded from his charming cine-hole.

I'm not sure the PAEDO-BEAR angle was prevalent in earlier versions of the A.I. writing.

I really do think that Kubrick's insistence on calling it Pinocchio through all stages was a direct translation of his idea for the film, maybe adult'd up a bit in a Clockwork Orange fashion but nothing more...

Then again, he really did have a BOY and a BEAR in an ADULT sex world, a boy that never gets old but has to become a REAL BOY (whatever that might have meant in Kubrick's wonderfully inventive (and twisted) mind).
