Carbon, nitrogen and oxygen atoms in our bodies, as well as atoms of all other heavy elements, were created in previous generations of stars .All organic matter containing carbon was produced originally in the furnace of dying stars. The universe was originally hydrogen and helium, the carbon was made subsequently, over billions of years.

When a star is exhausted its supply of hydrogen, it can die in a violent explosion- throwing a large cloud of dust and gas into space. The elements themselves (carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, etc.) were synthesized, cooked up as it were, in the nuclear furnaces that are the deep interior of stars. These elements are then released at the end of a star's lifetime when it explodes, and subsequently incorporated into a new generation of stars -- and into the planets that form around the stars, and the lifeforms that originate on the planets.

It is hot as hades in the middle... asteroids are not hot... stars are hot... Earth is a dying star! I think it is trillions of years old... just like all the other rocky planets... Plus Jupiter and Saturn are brown dwarf stars, Uranus and Neptune are hotter than Hades as well, they are the last stages before they become an earth-like planet... they are not cool enough though...

Well planets could be either the reminants of older stars that have already died or are they random periodic by products of the stars they orbit..or is the universe just one large bi-polar pin ball machine of interactions and reactions...does it really matter LOL?

hmm..not entirely sure about that... stars, planets, asteroids are all very different in nature: how they form; there environment and how old they are.

It's a life cycle. New hot white dwarf>main sequence>super large giant (sometimes)>Red dwarf>brown dwarf>blue dwarf>black dwarf=Earth>moon>large asteroid>small asteroid>meteroid...lol

Or they are embers of what were once star cores and as the sun grew it adopted the other dying stars as it circled the galaxy... When was the last time you have seen the sun spit out a planet anyways? That would be horrible! lol
