i wish i'd looked north. let the hounds out the door and noticed the clouds were pink. thought it a bit odd but never thought to look for northern lights.

Many nights of pink clouds so far. Start looking more often and you'll see them.

i'd love to but i feed the raccoons at night on my front porch, so it's like their turf after the sun goes downdamned

Two of the ones we saw flashed at us and moved on a bit then disappeared. Very cool!

I'm 53 and remember sitting with my grandfather in Wisconsin when I was a kid and watching the northern lights. About 45 years ago or so. I'll still never forget their awesome beauty.

This is going to sound like a weird question, but did anyone else feel any physiological effects from this?

My phone and internet went down, so I didn't find out until this morning that we had a CME hit and these amazing auroras down to such low lattitudes.

I was experiencing tachycardia from about 7pm yesterday to about 3am this morning. I have no history of heart trouble and have never experienced this before.

It could certainly be coincidental, but wondering if there are any corroborating experiences among GLPers.

at lot of us get this with large solar storms. I get it before them. Some get it during , some afterwards.

Fascinating, much thanks both of you!

I take bp meds, so anytime I get the rapid heartbeat, I look for the cause. I stay away from processed foods, msg, nitrates, etc...so if I get it, I am definitely
looking for the reason. Good health to ya! hf

Is this going to be visible tonight also? I'm in northeastern West Virginia, right across the line from Maryland. I usually go out and check out the sky before I go to bed but didn't do it last night. But then, it may have been cloudy here....

Anyway, I'll check it tonight. Does it do it all night long? I would like to see an unmistakable view of the lights.

Any special direction?...or just UP?
