Re: MYSTERIES of ANCIENT NEW ZEALAND and THE PACIFIC
cool xen, i have learnt alot from the books, still am.....

The numbers and set up, of these ancient systems are interesting.

Nga Tohatoha tapu a tangata

The sacred numbers of the chosen

The sacred houses were situated, it was told us during the Wananga, in the twelve sacred levels of the heavens. There are thirty-six sacred houses of the Creator who carefully placed the Whare Taputapu Atea, the sacred houses of the universe, strategically on the separate levels.
Quoting: Ra 7945627

thanks ra for posting the above, it all rings so true. the books got sent today. i have my own findings that are virtually identical to the last paragraph above. 36 (6*6) sacred plains/houses making up 6 realms, 6 dimensions on 3 levels (12 plains/houses per level). can't wait to compare the rest of the numbers!

peace
Quoting: xen

I like the way you think Xen, there are scientific truths within the lore which associate to ancient schools/pools of knowledge.

I also suspect Hebrew Qubbala connections to the star lore of waitaha, Im wondering weather they left any prophacy.......

Hope your enjoying the books.....:)

This Story here, resonates to many biblical connections. Reminded me of some of the people that left this earth on chariots or by other means, like enoch, moses, ect.

Moses brought back two stones, apparently the original Whare Wananga was built with two stones, that Tane Nui o Rangi(Moses?) brought back from the Twelth Heaven. These two stones were said by some to once be the foundation stones used at THE CROSSHOUSE AT MIRINGA TE KAKARA.

Re

The Story Of The Three Kete Of Knowledge

The Raupo Kites dance On The winds and reach for the heavens. And our minds fly with them to the trails travelled by Tane Nui o Rangi to gain the Three Kete of Knowledge filled with Light. And we remember there was a fourth and its name was Darkness.

Mokopuna, the flames will soon become embers and the shadow will creep close about us. And you will sleep and dream. 'I roto i ou moemoea ka tae wairua mai te matauranga ki a koe... and in your dreams knowledge will come to you.'

We did not always walk in the Light. In ancient days we lost our way on the tides of life and confusion ruled. Then a voice called to Tane Nui o Rangi and said...

'I am Rehua, Keeper of the Knowledge of the Universe. Come to me in the Twelth Heaven and I will give you the Three Kete of great wisdom.'

Tane Nui o Rangi used the magic of the growing vines to climb the celestrial tree. Then he took wood from it to make a arrow to shoot him past the stars to the House of Rehua. There the God welcomed him and gave into his care the Three Kete of Knowledge.

When he returned to the tree and stepped down from the vines, he took again his earth name of Tane Mahuta. And he gave the Kete to the children of Light who walked to bring peace to the world.

That was not to be because whiro, the brother of Tane Mahuta, envied those who carried the Kete and demanded them for himself. However, tane Mahuta said...

'Only those who walk without anger and serve others may have these gifts. Put aside the rage that consumes you and come in peace and they are yours.'

Whiro cherished his cloak of anger and would not put it aside. Instead he drew it close about him and flew the long trails of the Universe until he found Rehuna. And was given the Kete of Darkness that held the terrible knowledge of war.

Song of Waitaha ~ The Histories Of A Nation

Just a note, it seem this story talks about someone traveling to the heavens Sirrus!!!!!!(Rehua!) Reciveing some advance knowledge via Three kete of knowledge and returning......

thank you Ra and likewise. the books are amazing, haven't read as much as i would've liked yet but from what i've seen they do indeed contain prophecies and accurate accounts of world events from the past. very deep stuff. god bless the waitaha!

i liked your post on the fairy people, i do recall having seen a few fairy spirits over the years. i hope they come back, pretty sure they will :)

there is much to learn in the blackness although it is not for the faint-hearted. as brutal and horrible as it is, it is real. once understood the tears of horror become tears of joy. not for everyone but a legitimate part of existence

thank you again for your posts, much to ponder, much to remember, much to learn

Kurawaka: elder whanau who are the thnkers, planners, leaders.

Rakaiwaka: these are the investigators, researchers, contractors.

Pakauwaka: these are the knowledge keepers and the dreamers for the nation.

These names were taken from the star pattern that forms the Punga Tapu o Te Atea, the fish trap of the heavens. Sometimes it was called Te Pepe o Te Atea, the butterfly of the heavens. In any case, the stars that feature in the naming of the three main groups are:

Kurawaka
Rakaiwaka
Pakauwaka
Mintaka
Alnilam
Alnitak

To our elders, these stars form the families of Waitaha. To the astronomers of the western thinkers, they form the Belt of Orion. Our mythologies speak of our elder seers and priests communicating with learned ancestors within the spirit houses of these particular stars. We keep very still and quite with all of our family and extended family matters, for others find our ways very hard to think about. It was one of the many myths and legends that we have kept carefully contained within the songs that sing of these matters.

These doorway stars were seen as the door keepers of the spirits of our whanau and hapu, family and extended family. In all the ancient teachings, they speak of our teachers and healers as having direct communication
with our ancient learned ancestors who came to us in our old world villages and helped in the development of our cultural and traditional knowledge base. We understand that the teaching of the very highest orders were for those trusted souls who have the ability to overcome ego and use the knowledge for the greater good of the people. Not very many people were chosen to hold the knowledge, and that was sad.

The understanding that I have moko, of these matters is that some of our teachers and healers are still today receiving communications from the old ones who came to visit us many thousands of years ago, and who helped us in understanding the nature of all the patterns of the universe. Contained within these communications were the instructions for the teachers and healers, yet sometimes they communicate with some of the wonderful people of the universe who have worked among the nations. Our elders tried hard to locate these beautiful people to help them in their pursuit of all the work that they have to complete, but they too have to be careful in these times of strangers and dangers.

Korotangi-Sacred Bird of Tainui

image of korotangi
[link to www.aoteaharbour.co.nz]

The origins of the Korotangi remain a mystery, although it is now almost 100 years since it was found by a Maori imbedded in the roots of an upturned manuka tree, between Aotea harbour and Raglan. All that is definitely known is that it was discovered in 1878, that it weighs 4 Ib 10 oz, is 10 inches long and is finely carved from a dark green serpentine. The Korotangi bird at first glance resembled a prion or whalebird, until it was noted that instead of having a united nasal tube, the Korotangi had lateral nostrils at the base of the beak, rather like a ducks. No-one knew how long it had been under the tree, but one thing was clear, it bore no resemblance to any known carving. The Korotangi was first aquired by Albert Walker, who left it for a short time with Major Drummond Hay of Cambridge, and it was during it's stay in Major Drummonds home that the first clue came to Korotangi's identity.

An old chieftainess, seeing the stone bird, immediately bowed before it and began to sing a lament to the Korotangi. The news of the find soon spread amongst the Maori and all who saw it, claimed it was the sacred talisman, Korotangi, brought to NZ in the Tainui waka. The korotangi was said to have been stored at "Te Ahurei", the wananga or school of learning, along with other precious stone emblems, established shortly after the Tainui waka arrived in Kawhia harbour. Later the korotangi and these other emblems were lost, causing a civil war amongst the Tainui people. After the korotangi had been identified, it was bought by Major John Wilson as a present for his wife and many Maori chiefs visited the Wilson house to view the famous stone bird, including: Tawhiao, King Potatau 11 and Rewi Maniapoto, who asked if he could have the korotangi in his bedroom. His wish was granted and it is said, he rose several times in the night to tangi over it.

Rest of story at link above.
Quoting: Tauranga

There is a lot of mystery about the origins of the Korotangi. Some claim the Maoris brought it with them when they arrived in New Zealand from overseas, and some Maoris from the 19th century adamantly claim it was found in New Zealand after they arrived.

Prof. Julius von Haast (a very interesting character indeed) made the following comment to the Philosophical Institute of Canterbury, 13th October, 1881:

"I wish also to draw your attention to the fact that the stone bird has been carved with a sharp implement, either of iron or bronze, of which, as we know, the Maoris had no knowledge; the lines are all cut so evenly that it could not have been done with a stone implement."

Interestingly, Haast always suspected that there was an advanced civilisation in New Zealand long before the arrival of the Maori. He was always on the lookout for evidence of the Moa hunters who also preceded the Maori.

Looking through the historical records (Transactions and Proceedings of the Royal Society of New Zealand 1868-1961) in the National Library of New Zealand - it is abundantly clear that all the Maori's own history of New Zealand back then says that the islands were already occupied, and that the Maori's killed off the former occupants.

hi guys

i dont know if this has been mentioned on this thread or not , if so my apologies.

watched a doco last night on sky tv about an archeological discovery in palau of very old humanISH bones ( 3000 yrs maybe ) found in a cave. the thing is, these people were very small with thick skulls and flat faces.

Re: MYSTERIES of ANCIENT NEW ZEALAND and THE PACIFIC
this cave was on a very small island off the coast of the main island of palau.
it turns out that the MANY individuals found in the cave all died around the same time and the archaeologists hypothesized that a tidal wave may have inundated the cave and taken them out.

but then they found another cave on a small island ,on the other side of the main island of palau, that had even more and better preserved remains of the same species of small humans. they then realised that a tidal wave couldnt be responsible for both events.

from the descriptions and stories in this thread, a fair hypothesis could be that at 3000 yrs ago or so, the early polynesians may have arrived and hunted them down as they are said to have to a similar race in NZ

Hi Tauranga, thanks for the links :)

Hawaiki – a real island? Or a mythical place?

Hawaiki is the traditional Māori place of origin. The first Māori are said to have sailed to New Zealand from Hawaiki. And in Māori mythology Hawaiki is the place where Io, the supreme being, created the world and its first people. It is the place from which each person comes, and it is where each will return after death.

Location unknown

Māori and Pākehā alike have wondered about the true location of Hawaiki. The actual location has never been confirmed, and it is uncertain if it is a real, physical island, or a mythical place. Some have associated Hawaiki with the Tahitian island Ra‘iātea (Rangiātea, in Māori). Like Hawaiki, Rangiātea is seen as both a physical and spiritual place.

Some people thought that Māori might have originated from Polynesia, India, or even Mesopotamia. More recent scholars admit it is difficult to decide on the 'true' location of a place that is also mythological.

Interesting reading.....

Australia's Lost Civilisation

There are many remains of "lost civilisations" scattered throughout the world. With the notable exception of Atlantis, fragmentary remains of unknown civilisations of the past have come too light in the most surprising places. For example, Atlantis is by no means the only submerged civilisation. Submerged ruins of ancient cities have been located of the Bay of Bengal, the north coast of Papua New Guinea, Torres Straight, the Cook Islands, and even Australia.

And then there were the enigmatic remains on Easter Island, with its mysterious roads that lead out into the sea, ostensibly to now-submerged cities of much larger pre-diluvian land mass. The whole Polynesian rave extending from Hawai to New Zealand, preserves traditions of "Uru," or the "Great West Land," which to the Maoris was located directly to the west of New Zealand, and which they said was inhabited by a race of people who built in stone and were expert astronomers.

The Maoris even claimed decent from this mysterious race. Belief in far away China of a mysterious "land to the south" had persisted since the dim ages of pre-recorded Chinese history. Known as the land of Locack, its existence today is verified by ancient maps, some dating back 2500 years, which besides the islands of South-East Asia, display the undoubted though crude outline of Australia. According too ancient traditions the land of Locack was a vast continent so plentiful in Gold and other precious minerals that it surpassed all over lands.

Two Easter Island type stone heads have been recovered in Emerald in far north Queensland. Similar heads occur in the Whitsunday Passage off the north Queensland coast. Inca rites and beliefs have been recorded in Central Australia. An enormous Mayan-like stone head has been dug up near Cambelltown south of Sydney. All of which give credence to the abilities of these ancient peoples to span the Pacific in their ancient balsa wood rafts. Such evidence lead me to believe that Australia may hold the answers to many mysteries concerning human migration even before the dawn of recorded history.

Around far-off Tiahuanaco high up in the Peruvian Andes live a strange people who call themselves the Uru. They are a fair-skinned race who say in their folklore that they came from across the western ocean from a great continent. There is also another great mystery surrounding archeological remains in both Peru and Yucatan. Here scientists have excavated in recent years human skeletons dating back many thousands of years, which may have been identified as Australoid. What were Australian Aborigines doing in far off South America? At a central western Queensland site, remains of walls and buildings have been unearthed below surface deposits.

They are constructed of bricks of a triangular shape whose mortar seems more durable than the bricks themselves. Similar ruins exist in Western Australia and on the north coast of Papua New Guinea. Other mysterious ruins have lately come too light across a wide area of the Papua New Guinea hinterland. Whether or not these remains are evidence of Ancient Egyptian settlement of New Guinea remains uncertain, even though other undoubted remains of Egyptian presence have already come to light.

Further mystery surrounds the remains of the large-temple like structure built of large stone blocks which stands in the Woomera district of South Australia. If the remains of the submerged ruins of Torres Strait, Queensland, NSW, South Australia and Western Australia pose riddles, how else are we to explain the many stone and earthen pyramidal structures that have been found scattered throughout Queensland and New South Wales-as the work of world travelling Egyptians?

These pyramids {to be fully investigated in a future Strange Phenomena}, sometimes hundreds of miles apart, are arranged in definite alignments. Whatever their true purpose, they are undoubted evidence of the presence hearabouts of a highly advanced race of people who built often enormous structures on a grand scale.

These Pyramids, extending over a vast range from Cape York are to be found elsewhere in western Queensland and down the coast through Townsville to northern NSW. They are next met with south of Sydney to Cooma and the Murray River; another may exist in Victoria. That these pyramids were built for astronomical reasons, as well as trappers and conveyors of some natural energy filed, can be debated.
