I think you're missing out on all the fun. You don't have to be physically descended from an ancient people to claim kinship with them. You can claim to be reincarnated in that ancient time. Therefore anyone of any color can claim they used to be Egyptian.

North African countries, like Egypt, have a lot of Caucasians. The theory that since Egypt is in Africa therefor the Egyptians were blacks is false. Zahi Hawass said that the ancient Egyptians were not black and they were not Arab. He said specifically that Egypt was not an African culture even though they were in Africa technically. The origin of the ancient Egyptian people is from the near east. This is clear.

As for the OP's faux outrage over mummies being put on display, I would point out that mummies such as Ramses the Great and Hatshepsut were white people. You can tell from simply viewing their bodies that they were white. Anyone with knowledge of anthropology and science can see that the skulls of these ancient kings and queens were Caucasian. Some were even recorded as having blonde hair and some statues, especially from the earlier dynasties, show the ancient Egyptians as having blue eyes.
