...

again..so

do you respond to every offer? An offer can be put out there, by tv, radio, mail..but it is the person who go to the place the offer was made from and accepts the terms.

No one said You HAVE to borrow or buy it

I responded to your stupid story about making an offer to a bum again soo

You're an idiot, and I'm glad you have to pay to banks for their bad decision. I hope it causes you financial hardship. Stupid people deserve to be punished.

ETA: That goes for everyone so stupid as to let the banks get away with this scheme. You're all responsible.
 Quoting: Jake101

Yes you do
 Quoting: Mooshi Kin

haha I'm not being punished for it. You are. I work for one of the major companies that did it to you. I'm literally laughing out loud that you're letting my company off the hook.
 Quoting: Jake101

ha ha Then you are paying for it even more than the rest of us..you work for the company that you claim screwed you! ..The jokes on you. do you feel so forgiving? Why don't you hand your paycheck over to the bums who won't payback the money they borrowed too

Look at you people. Attention skewed again.

Hey sheep, they want you to think that those with student loans are getting a good deal. They also want those of you without to think you're getting screwed somehow.

The system is a giant fraud, you've been fleeced and fucked since you were born. The system is rigged so that most of you have to take out a huge loan to acquire something of value (home, car, school, etc). Then they steal money from your paycheck, in the form of "taxes", you pay more taxes on most things you buy, and they fuck with the value of the currency, making the money you have in your hand more worthless by the day, aka "theft", etc, etc. If you don't know all the ways you've been "bent over" at this point, then close the GLP window now and go to McDonalds and start eating Big Macs.

Fuck the Fed and the bloody corporation in and of Washington, DC. Want reform? look there.

There is no need for personal attacks, this is an internet forum, people can have differences of opinion.

You both have made valid points. I agree with Mooshi that people are ultimately responsible for their actions, no one forces a person to get a loan or spend money that they do not have.

I also agree with you in that the system is flawed. Banks where rewarded and bailed out at taxpayer expenses, that should have never happened.

I do not understand your statement that "everyone so stupid as to let the banks get away with this scheme". How could we, the American people do anything to change this. Under the last two administrations, our government failed us by handing out bailout money like it was halloween candy. And to make a comment like "I hope it causes you financial hardship. Stupid people deserve to be punished." Why should you, me, or anyone be punished for the the mistake of others?

So you work at a bank or with a defense contractor?

For those (most of you) who don't know me, I work with a defense contractor in SW Ohio specializing in medical/logistical products.

Usually, the government (or whomever) puts out feelers, gets bids and chooses a supplier.

For these goods, I just got a mass order number, and a new demand request for their bulk order to be delivered to our warehouse for their consignment storage on Oct. 23'rd. They also purchased our available stock on top of their production demand. This is "no-bid" meaning "Charge us whatever the heck you want." This is very rare, and I've only seen it done in times of emergency (like Katrina.)

The main concern I have, the body bags have anti-biotic properties and fire accelerates. One year after the date of manufacture, they will lose all effectiveness. The NBC filters about 5. After those dates, the filters (and body bags) will actually become much worse than useless... they will become toxic to handle and definitely dangerous to use.

To digress, a ton of money was spent to expedite a gigantic order of things which have very strict expiration dates.

Read into this what you will.

Update:

They're off to Denver. Just like I said, before the "training exercise" was even announced, that they had bought them for a big exercise. That was it.

Operation Mountain Guardian. The shipping order came through last night, I didn't even see it until this morning, right now and already all the inventory is wrapped and gone.

There is absolutely no way in hell this is a training exercise. No way in fucking hell would they be using the stuff they bought in consignment for a training exercise. They are lying through their teeth, and now I'm as paranoid as anyone else on this forum.

I have no proof that this is a cover-up, but I will tell you with no hesitation this exercise is covering the movement of large quantities of equipment.

Stop defending the banks. Place the blame where it belongs. They gambled with your money, knowing you'd have to foot the bill. Blaming the dead-beat college students lets the perpetrators of the scheme get away with it.

There was an intelligent force at work, and several people in this thread are trying to defend it.

ETA: The banks OWN the government. Bought and paid for. The company I work for received hundreds of billions in currency, and trillions in subsidies, then dodged paying a single dollar in taxes.

President Obama used executive order today to push forward student loan reform that would reduce monthly payments for 1.6 million borrowers next year, accelerating the previous 2014 startup timetable.

The new “Pay As You Earn” proposal for college students lowers their monthly loan payments to 10 percent of their discretionary income. The plan also forgives the balance of their debt after 20 years of payments.

If they allow banks to be bailed out for billions and billions of dollars without even changing the management of the banks, then it's not to bad for the govt. to bailout the populace either.

“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

And I know tons of people who took out loans, went to college, and have made themselves more valuable to society. Your position reminds me of folks who are anti-seatbelt because seatbelts are sometimes detrimental (despite the fact that, overall, they tend to be tremendously beneficial).

The relevant question is whether, ON THE WHOLE, society is better or worse off when you take ALL cases into consideration. And when you do that, the net impact of all this student-loan-supported post-secondary education in our society has been overwhelmingly positive.

This statement

“So here's one line of thinking for why we should socialize post-secondary education (just like elementary and secondary education are already socialized):

It's in our best interest for elementary education to be available to all, and society justifiably pays for it.

It's in our best interest for secondary education to be available to all, and society justifiably pays for it”

This is one of the major things wrong with our society. The federal government does not have the right to be involved in education this is clearly a role for the states.

Its people like You that have brought us into this mess with the mindset of “its in our best interest”

When does your “justifiably pay for it” stop? With education? With housing? With medical care? With retirement?
 Quoting: YaRight

You're seriously stooping to the "slippery slope" defense as a protest against public education of any kind?

I'd prefer to live in a society that recognizes the value of education and acts accordingly. I do not want to live in a society that ignores the benefits of public education due to paranoid concerns about slippery slopes.
