Give it a rest and go back to your msm. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3845746 There is a right to peaceably assemble. But these people were disturbing the peace by blocking streets, which is not their right. They got evicted from their 'tent city', so it's obviously not their right to camp out in that area and make a filthy mess of it. One man's rights end where another's begin. |

I didn't see any actual violence in the video. Just some kids yelling and running away from the tear gas. |

You didnt see any violence? So what do you call the police shooting tear gas at children and the elderly folks that were standing up for their(and incidentally your rights). Not to mention the "rubber" bullets that were used on a peaceful protest. |

| 2342 User ID: 4063122 10/26/2011 01:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After the Occupy Oakland encampment was torn down early Tuesday morning by police, the ousted protesters reconvened outside the Oakland Library on Tuesday afternoon and voted to attempt a re-occupation of the same plaza from which they had just been evicted. Summoned by waves of emergency tweets and emails, fresh recruits joined the evicted Occupiers and early this evening once again marched on downtown Oakland, intending to reclaim Frank Ogawa Plaza. Quoting: ~Jay~ But the Oakland Police were of course monitoring all this, and along with many other local police departments they were waiting for the protesters’ invasion. After an hours-long standoff at 14th and Broadway, interrupted by several confrontations and arrests, everything started to turn violent some time after 9:30pm. Definitely. However, this crowd was just all whiny-baby-pissed because they got kicked out of their "tent-city" (nearly none of which are actually occupied at night, btw), and have now assembled in a place that inhibits the rights of others. Blocking public streets makes it difficult for the 99% those retards keep blathering on about, so not sure why this is such a fuss. Here is where I look back. Here is where you fell. | Anonymous Coward User ID: 2386473 10/26/2011 01:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Im with the poster that wonders why the extreme hatred for these protestors instead of the 1% that have bled this country dry? Did no one catch the CBO report in regards to the wealth diparity in this country over the past 30 years? So its crazy for these people to be mad about 99% of us having our income increase by an average 20% while the top 1% has seen an increase of 275%!! To me thats where we all should be dam mad! Most of you wish you had the balls to stand up to the establishment and question the status quo but I guess its easier to tear down instead of build up. You all are cowards but its okay because we do have Americans in this country that will stand up for you even when you wont stand up for yourselves. |

You didnt see any violence? So what do you call the police shooting tear gas at children and the elderly folks that were standing up for their(and incidentally your rights). Not to mention the "rubber" bullets that were used on a peaceful protest. From the videos posted, I saw a large crowd blocking off access to a street. Without a permit, that becomes disturbing the peace. Screaming obscenities with the intent to incite violence is disturbing the peace. Disturbing the peace is illegal. They aren't 'standing up for my rights'. If and when I choose to protest a cause, I'll make sure I actually do it peacefully and in accordance with local laws. What the police were doing is called 'crowd dispersement'. They gave fair warning. They told the crowd to leave the area in x amount of time, or they would begin using gas and other non-lethal means of getting them out. I didn't see a single shred of evidence of police brutality in those videos. Those kids were evicted from a plaza that they were illegally occupying, and they came back to attempt to re-occupy another area illegally. It's not helping anyone's 'cause' if the protesters are acting like a bunch of lunatics. |
