Isn't the idea to "buy low, sell high?" Buying in at near-record highs is pretty stupid if you ask me.

Add it to your emergency fund, or if it's fully funded with at least a years worth of expenses...then put it in the blow money fund...assuming you are debt free...if you have any debt then put it there...

Do NOT pay a lawyer to file chapter 7.Go to your local federal court and talk the clerk. They will help you fill out 100% of the forms(no brain needed)and file.I did this and can not fathom why anyone would pay a lawyer to fill out a 4 page form(less your actual debts). The filing fee is right around $300,and any human with half a brain can do it by themselves.

I've just been kicking the idea around and it have not reached the point of seriously looking into it but I appreciate your insight. Would save a few bucks and then some if this is true.

Call your local federal court and ask to talk to a clerk. They can explain 99% of what you need to do over the phone.Yes it is very simple. The hardest part is typing out your debts making sure to not miss anything. If you finished 7th grade you can do it with out a lawyer easily.

Hi Jack!

Yeah, I don't think I posted very much before becoming a member but I do remember the thread about the war that broke out in Russia on 8-8-08. The story broke early and there were no mods on to pin it, so I think I bumped it, lol. I think I posted on some financial type threads too but I was overall a fairly quiet AC. It took some time to warm up (to GLP) as it always does with me.

Optimisticly siver could double in the next 3 to 6 months so it's not a big winner at 2000. I say gamble on a higher return. take 1200 and buy one million Iraqi dinar then take the other 800 and buy silver. If the dinar pops you have one hell of a home run and if not and silver doubles then you are practically were you started.
 Quoting: BULLY! BULLY!

Silver is not going to double in the short term. Stop feeding people BS. If any of the predictions on here were true the rocket would have blasted off "to da moon" by now and it simply hasn't happened.

Advising people to enter a silver position at these levels is irresponsible, bordering on reckless. Sure, if someone has a bunch that they got at much lower prices (I got mine @ around $20/oz all in) it's OK to add here, but if I had none today I would not buy in above $25.

OP. Just save the $2000 in a high-interest account in case of job loss or whatever. That's what I'd do, and I am well-invested in metals, index funds and relatively safe, boring dividend-paying stocks.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1283316

I bought 25k in silver back in 2002 when it was 4 a oz sheeple thought I was crazy!

Handy work OM. I have not shot a gun since my days in the Scouts. It was a 22 rifle, next step up from a bb gun, lol. A good friend of mine was one of the best around at targets. He was always winning awards through Fin Fur & Feather.

So do you hunt or is your piece for personal protection?

Re: 2 Grand Burning A Hole In My Pocket.
Yeah, I bank with the locals.

Have all my life.

I opened an account with USB to be able
to reach my son quickly...
No banking charges promised...then all of a sudden,
they are charging me $7 a month. So I played their
game and opened a savings to NOT get charged the $7.

Low and behold, they closed my savings. Thieves!

Yeah, I know what you mean about the FEES. Especially with Citizens, which is why I switched. As long as I keep a balance above a certain amount it's all good, no fees.

That's crazy that they closed your account. I'm not sure if I've ever heard of such tactics before.

I began to look for the kind of player that doesn't need his ego fed by stardom, but will do what he's supposed to do because he knows the game and loves the game, and will do the job the right way even if someone else gets the glory." ~ Bill Belichick

Help those worse off. Spend it all on them. Do it personally. Meals, clothes, no cash. The ones who won't care about your being so adamant, should you find any, are angels.

Yeah, the lady told me to get around the new charge was to open a savings account, move $25 into the savings once a month before the 19th of that month and not be charged.

She then said, after the 20th, you can move it back to checking and then just reuse the same $25 each month.

I thought, you little rascal, she knows how to play the
game. So I took her advice, they all said yep, and it
was done. Two months later...I still didn't see my savings online. That's when I realized they closed it.
I don't know what happened.
