HELP! Is it normal for a cat to do this?
My cat, she is about 6 months old, LOVES play and is very friendly.

But recently while playing, she will arch her back and fluff her tail. Her tail gets HUGE. Then she will bounce around sideways for minutes at a time.

Is this normal for cats to fluff their fur like this?

Very normal- they fluff up, sometimes even throwing fur off in an attempt to look bigger to adversaries when confronted.

Awww....he/she sounds so cute! Post a picture!
I think your kitty is trying to look ferocious. Usually my cats do this if they are afraid or in "fight mode".

Just ask the guy who got his penis bitten by his pet ferret. Keep your pants on and quit trying to force your pets to do those things!

That's what they do when they're attacked. If she was a person she would be shadow-boxing or doing a pretend sword fight.

Yes, your kitty is play-fighting. Hours of fun and entertainment, enjoy your new darling. Treat her with kindness and respect and you will have a great little friend who senses your moods and brings you joy.
