Wrangler Rebuilds in Hackleburg, AL After Tornado Devastated The Factory & Small Town I grew up in Alabama, and never owned a pair of wranglers. They are the only jeans my grandaddy wore, but I didn't even know they were made in the state. I will definitely be buying a pair now. |

Wrangler Rebuilds in Hackleburg, AL After Tornado Devastated The Factory & Small Town I'm with you. After seeing the loyalty Wrangler Jean Company is showing toward it's employees and community I have decided to buy their product exclusively. "Buy American" takes on a new meaning. |

Wrangler Rebuilds in Hackleburg, AL After Tornado Devastated The Factory & Small Town Some people don't buy that brand because they sponsor an endurance horse race that some feel is abusive to the horses, but this is a bright side of the Wrangler brand and balances out any questionable P.R. in my book. |

Wrangler Rebuilds in Hackleburg, AL After Tornado Devastated The Factory & Small Town Actually this was a distribution center. Wrangler does not manufacture jeans in USA. The last sewing plant in the USA closed in 2005. The closest place that Wrangler makes jeans is probably in Mexio. [link to en.wikipedia.org] |

When Garth brought back Western wear it was great you could buy wrangler stuff anywhere but now I have to go to a western store or if I'm in Idaho I go to Cal Ranch |

Wrangler Rebuilds in Hackleburg, AL After Tornado Devastated The Factory & Small Town I was headed to Wal-Mart to see what they had in Wranglers, and don't want to get the high waisted kind, so I checked the internet quickly to see if Wrangler had any cute women's low waisted jeans. I was surprised that Wrangler does sell 'designer-like' jeans. Check out these cute Wranglers [link to www.discountwesternwear.com] [link to cf.mp-cdn.net] |

Yes, this is a distribution center. Who knows...Maybe if we have an overwhelming show of support for this center, Wrangler will reconsider manufacturing their jeans in the U.S. (and then again, maybe not) but I'm willing to try this one small thing to see if it makes a difference. I'm tired of just sitting back, criticizing, and feeling pessimistic. I wanted to take action to help, even if it is a small way. |

Wrangler Rebuilds in Hackleburg, AL After Tornado Devastated The Factory & Small Town As part of their "Bringing America Back" series, ABC news featured a story on the evening news tonight about the Wrangler Company who is standing behind their workers in Hackleburg, AL. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3852150 Please join me by standing by Wrangler! I've never owned a pair of Wrangler jeans, but after watching this story tonight, my husband and I are going to go out to buy a pair this weekend because we were so touched by the loyalty of this company (who make their products in America!). [link to abcnews.go.com] When a tornado tore through Hackleburg, Ala., in April, it nearly destroyed the little town and killed 26 people. Dozens of houses were flattened, along with several businesses and buildings -- including the Wrangler factory, the largest employer in the town. Pairs of the iconic blue jeans were found as far as 90 miles away after the storm. Many of the workers lost their homes and were also left without hope. Plant manager Wade Hedgedorn took shelter under a table with 13 other workers when the twister blasted through the plant. One person died. more at link I like Wrangler jeans and was actually surprised to learn they are still made in the USA. Another US company that makes good jeans is Diamond Gusset. |
