OK, so how did ECSM ever arrive at this 6.2, since NO Reporting station ever reported that low a mag. I copy/pasted
this from the time of my post, although when I looked back on the thread, they had raised it to 7.0??!!

Re: BREAKING!!! 6.9 near the coast of Peru
Update : If the epicenter of this earthquake has been correctly calculated a Tsunami is highly unlikely (just on the coast), but please keep in mind that an error margin of 20 to 40 km has to be kept in mind, in this case the earthquake’s epicenter could have been right in the coastal waters. We are hoping that all is OK.

Update : NO DESTRUCTIVE WIDESPREAD TSUNAMI THREAT EXISTS BASED ON HISTORICAL EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI DATA. HOWEVER – EARTHQUAKES OF THIS SIZE SOMETIMES GENERATE LOCAL TSUNAMIS THAT CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE ALONG COASTS LOCATED WITHIN A HUNDRED KILOMETERS OF THE EARTHQUAKE EPICENTER. AUTHORITIES IN THE REGION OF THE EPICENTER SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS POSSIBILITY AND TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION. (NOAA message for the Pacific Ocean)

Update : The last deadly earthquake in the area was in 2007, which killed more than 500 people

Update : GDACS, the theoretical modelling system from the European Union has NO tsunami alert (just like NOAA), but both organizations are using the USGS parameters (epicenter on the coast). (We @ earthquake-report.com are NOT 100 % sure of these predictions as we have experienced serious location errors in the past).

Not quite...LIARS of USGS have not finished "massaging the data"...now it will never show up on a yearly list of eq's above 7.0... (and I now believe kitty-kat poster SickScent is a USGS and or gubmint shill! Go back to your Superwaver timewasting thread, pussy)
