Yeah it's all bullshit really. Tree limbs should have been trimmed away from the power lines. 85% of the people that lost power shouldn't have if the power companies were doing their jobs.
When I was in California once a year the power companies would come and trim away tree limbs from the power lines and we never even got snow where I lived.
This is bullshit and you should demand that they pay for spoiled food from power outages if they fail to provide you with proof that they maintained their power distribution system correctly. This includes keeping the trees trimmed away from the power lines.
