Anyone smoke weed every day....and quit for good or for a while?? | |
WrathChild User ID: 4279433 United States 11/01/2011 12:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I smoked for 2 years straight nearly every single day. Only time I didnt smoke was when I couldn't find any, which wasn't often. Anyway I was a pot head to say the least. I've quit for 3 weeks now so I can I find a new job. Honestly it wasn't hard for me. I mean I still want to smoke, but Im not sitting here all day jonesen for a j. I guess the only things ive noticed is it's harder for me to fall asleep, but if I lay long enough I eventually do. I don't know what to tell you really. It was easy for me to quit. On the plus side though, I don't cough as much but I've quit smoking cigarettes recently so it could be mostly that. Good luck to ya friend. Ps don't smoke legal weed. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1388145 Also how long after smoking weed did you feel these certain benefits? And any thing else you can tell me that will keep me motivated to stay clean. I have to drop some bad habits to progress in my life, and smoking weed is one of them. I've been smoking weed for 4 almost every day. I notice a difference already just after a day of not smoking and I can't wait to see how a feel in a month...5 months...1 year ...ect ..ect. I'm 30 male, started smoking pot when I was 15 stopped when I was 20....5 years stoned everyday. God has completely healed me from the effects of pot....my mind is sharp....my life is 100% better. After a year I began to regain my dignity. 10 years later I look back and see that giving up pot was the second best descision of my life. The first best descision was inviting Jesus into my heart. Best of luck OP. Galatians2:20 I have been crucified with Christ, It is no longer I that lives, but Christ now lives in me and the life that I live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. |

I know now I was going through life in a sort of fog or haze. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1471245 That's all there really is to it. Some people don't mind functioning day to day in a fog or purple haze. Yes you are correct, I enjoy life much better now that I am clear. :) ... My good wishes to all. |
Orisos User ID: 1743361 United States 11/01/2011 01:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I smoked for about a year, April 19th 2010 - March 27th 2011. Haven't smoked since due to some legal trouble. It sucks. I notice that life isn't as fun and music isn't as good. At least when I was high it was an adventure to go to Arby's. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4361382 United States 11/01/2011 01:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yep, smoked everyday for 18 years...had to give it up for a new job...been about 4 months...I have noticed that my dreams are more vivid...also, notice that I have tons of energy...do miss it though....one of these days I'll sit and partake, but it is going to be a while. |

Digital_JFK User ID: 3177792 Canada 11/01/2011 01:38 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah, I smoked weed everyday for 13 years. Then, I stopped. Realized that life is just as amazing when you're not zonked. Even more so, really. Stupid shit is better when you're high. Things that are already great become much worse. Nothing really happened. I still smoke, a couple times a month or something. In the garage, talking sports and art. I tend to complete more of my projects, instead of just conceptualizing them, which is great. There is no synthetic equivalent to accomplishment. Weed is fucking great, though. It's not the problem. You are. Microphone check 1 2 What is this? |

Master_Shake User ID: 1458341 United States 11/01/2011 01:40 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I smoked every day for well over 20 years. Since I have stopped, I know have at least two vivid dreams per night that I remember, I feel more rested in the morning, and my lungs do not hurt all the damn time. I was the number advocate for smoking weed, now I am glad I stopped. Plus look at the money you will save, I know that for me, I was spending close to $900.00 per month to support both our habit. Best damn thing I have done. I am not against it, but I am not pro-weed any more. double_frick User ID: 4052990 United States 11/01/2011 01:44 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i started smoking when i was 14 and then was STUPID (and had a sorta crazy mom....) and got caught a few times, well, she heard i had....she didn't see me, semantics. moving on .... she put me in drug rehab...Anyone remember CHARTER (if you don't get help here, please, get help somewhere....lol) and N.A. i quit for a little over a year. i was younger i don't really remember any appreciable benefits after quitting weed the first time. so....started smoking again....quit after a year or so...to join the navy. hahaha got clean, only thing that sucked was it was super hard to sleep....and shit was boring. hahaha :P got sworn in....started smoking weed again, fell in love with a boy....quit the navy before i even really began. hah it was a rocky ride after that, not because of the weed, because of the love. haha eventually i got pregnant (with a new boyfriend else....still missing that first love tho) :'( and obviously quit while pregnant and was just bored mostly. hard to sleep. nothin to major. also can't say that any needed clarity occurred. as in, sure maybe i was a little 'clearer', but not in a way that i think i really functioned any better. i may misplace something now and again....in my left hand :P hahahaha but i'm happier and less edgy, and shit, lifes just more fun when you have little things to take the edge off. i honestly feel worse about catchin a buzz from beer than weed....*shrugs* its a weed fuzz or haze, but if you enjoy it....i don't see anything wrong with it. then again, if you're quitting because its become detrimental in some way or is holding you back from things....by all means, take a break....can always start again if you change your mind. :) sorry for the huuuuuumongous post! :/ |

This was accompanied by never sleeping, racing thoughts(ADHD?), diminished tolerance for stupidity. I was always hyperactive growing up. I slept little and had to be patient to get that. When writing, my hands could never keep up with what I was thinking. Always omit words without realizing it. Pot slowed me down enough to function more effectively.IMO. I prefer to provide for my family and try and be a good role model, it's a special kind of high called being a father. Good luck OP, if you want to quit you will, it's as simple as that. |

It works differently on everyone and has a lot to do with the endorphins in your body for some people it causes the opposite effect, I just like to say anything in moderation can be enjoyed and sometimes be good for you but to much of anything is always bad. |

(morning, noon and night- multiple times.) Maybe a week or so after I stopped, I started having LOTS of energy and motivation to do -whatever-. About 2 weeks after I started to notice I wasn't really at a loss for words in conversation. All of that simply increased the longer I went with out. I went around 2 years before smoking again. Then it was only like every other Friday, and only one-two tokes. I would get a nice buzz on very very little. I wasn't short winded either- and never coughed anymore. |
