Re: Anyone smoke weed every day....and quit for good or for a while??
I smoked dope every day all day.. for 16 years.. The first thing in the morning and the last thing at night..

My motto at that time was " Onward Thur the fog"

I quit and have not smoked for 25 years.. I did have a few slips that fist 5 years and too this day at times I wish I had some every now and then,, just to chill out.

But over all,, that 15 years I smoked I was going nowhere.. After I quit I saw my job performance excel and went from about $80k net worth to over 1 million in 9 years. Now I'm worth over 2 million with hard assets.

My motto now is,, Get er done!~

So don't think it hurts you,, think again..

Re: Anyone smoke weed every day....and quit for good or for a while??
I smoked weed everyday for 5 years 18-23, for a while it was an eighth (3.5g's) a day. I wanted to quit from age 19 on, or at least smoke less frequently but I couldn't, I was addicted. I couldn't sleep without it, or have fun without it. When I quit I unable to sleep for 2-3 days at a time for several months, was super irritable, super depressed. I had to go to a doctor and got prescribed neurontin to deal with it.

Wow. This post kind of scared the shit out me. It's first time I'm looking up on the internet this kind of topic and reading this makes me feel like I'm reading something that I would write much older. Except I'm almost 21 now and going through that phase where I'm trying to stop but can't, pretty much exactly as you describe, for about two years. Makes me think how far am I gonna let it go eventually. Nonetheless I feel like I should save this "quote" of yours, because I feel like it may help me motivate myself to stop. So thanks, I'll post if I've made some progress in a few months x) wish me luck

ps: having glass bong at home and basically unlimited weed supply doesn't make it easier

Re: Anyone smoke weed every day....and quit for good or for a while??
I did but quit because it was a hassle and risky to obtian.

as most have said, getting sleep is not as easy but dreams are frequent.

the oposite effects for me were that I used it to get motivated to do things and it gave me increased awarness (which can make some paranoid)

I still want to grow some organic myself though but only use it very rarely for things I find it useful for (awareness & motivation) but Im not sure that I could refrain from using daily if I had it and I dont want to use it daily again because the dreams I have are important to me.

if I had to start over I would not start using it because of peer presure or recreation and I would take it seriously for the medicinal (psi) purposes and use it to only advance my state of being.

I havnt quit, I just havent used it in a long time.

I've smoked weed for twenty years and have recently quit and let me tell you 20years of dependency starts to show when you quit I've been having really bad nightmares high blood pressure cold sweats no sleep the shakes mood swings anxieties and a host of others but all that just tells me just how bad the weed was for me. I am positive that all these withdrawal symptoms will disappear and i will reap the benefits in maybe 3 to 6 months . There's nothing i love more than a joint but id rather be a good father. Smoked when I woke up smoked before I went to bed everyday. No longer smoke stopped cold turkey. The way to beat it is to move away from your environment if you can even if its for a short while.

I smoked for about a year, April 19th 2010 - March 27th 2011.

Haven't smoked since due to some legal trouble. It sucks. I notice that life isn't as fun and music isn't as good.

At least when I was high it was an adventure to go to Arby's.

Must Say That There Is Really No difference, It's All In Your Head.If You Don't Like It Then Quit. Don't Look For Others Opinions On A Subject That IS Purely Based On The Opinion Of The Government. Can You Get A Jon Without Smoking Yes But I Still Have A Job Smoke Everyday. I've Been Through It And I Think We Are All Brainwashed At Early Age To Think It's Bad. Re: Anyone smoke weed every day....and quit for good or for a while??
Today is day one of quitting for me. I’ve been smoking non-stop for the past 13 years. My longest non-smoking streak during those 13 years has been 4 days clean.

I’m pro-weed and believe it should be legal, but I’ve come to the realization that it’s become a problem for me. Back in my late teens I did drugs a lot harder and I was able to quit those cold turkey. Weed IMO is the hardest habit to kick.

I used to have literally hundreds of friends because I was more of the party guy who everyone loved to hang out with in high school and college. I would say over the past 3 or 4 years I turned into an anti-social asshole because I’d get blazed and I would get LOTS of calls to hang out daily. It got to the point I just wouldn’t even answer calls or return calls because I was too blazed and just wanted to relax.

Am I an unemployed loser smoking every day and with no girl? NO… I’ve been married for almost a year and have been with her for a total of 8 years. I also own a few GC companies and a few staffing companies. I make great money, have great wife, but I can run a shitty business at times and I’ve ignored my friends to the point that they probably hate me now.

I’d tell myself that I make all this $, I’m married, so on my free time I’d rather chill and light up all night. Well that has been my life the past few years. Work, hang at the house with the wife, and smoke. Every single fucking day.

The most difficult part of quitting for me will be the cravings when I’m bored, and the insomnia/nightmares I will have. When I quit even for two days my nightmares are the most intense nightmares that anyone could possibly have. It’s like a mix of the scariest moments of American Horror Story on FX, the conjuring, 28 days later and the most frightening devil movie that comes to mind. The dreams are extremely fucked up and never ending. I hope the nightmares will only last a few weeks. Also, I sweat more than Michael Jordan in the 4th quarter of a basketball game.

Anyways, I hope to remove all the resin from my lungs, hang out with friends more, and most importantly be a better business owner because things have gotten slow the past few months and I’ve done NOTHING to improve it. I hope to better myself in all areas and take my career to the next level.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Re: Anyone smoke weed every day....and quit for good or for a while??
Hey there,
Good on you for quitting! I've smoked for about 6yrs with most of that time smoking alot everyday. A couple of years ago i stopped for 6months and honestly felt great like my life was mine again. Stupidly i had just one bloody toke and stared smoking everyday again for a guess about 6months to a year. Newyears eve at midnight 2013/14 i stopped and havent touched to stuff at all since. Im 90 days today (woohoo).
So basically its definately worth stopping if you want to. I stayed away from my pot smoking mates for the first month or so because i was really craving it. Now though i hang out with them while they smoke and it doesnt bother me at all. So dont think you have to permanenltly ditch them like i thought originally, and used as a reason not to quit. You'l still see them, although probably wont like them as much when you realise they dont ever want to do anything besides smoke haha.

Ways i feel better:

1) clear head, i know me, my moods and motivations. I dont have weed muddying the waters confusing me about what i want and think.

2) embracing life, i want to go off into the world and see things meet people not just stay sitting in the same old places getting high.

3) im saving no end of cash!

4) no more meeting dodgy people to buy weed, feeling paranoid and to be honest at times putting my self at risk.

5) my dog likes me more now i stink a bit less.

6) i dont miss out on family gatherigs because im to embarassed about being off my head.

7) despite common belief i actually have much greater intuision and insight now iv stop smokig.

8) my day isnt ruled by how much weed i have, when i can get some or will i run out, putting me in a bad mood.

9) honestly i feel proud of myself for quitting and its giving me the beleif in myself to do other things i wouldnt have.

10) generally im much happier, much more stable and way way more optimistic and positive thinking.

I could have put more things but i didnt really want to ramble too much, but yea there you go. Hope someone finds this useful.

Sorry just one thing, to the person who feels like nothing is as good now, like films, video games and stuff, because you cant smoke while doing it dont worry about it seriously. Best thing i found was watch new movies and play new games which arent associated with weed. Then after a while you'll forget about needing the weed to make things better more fun.

i have been clean for nearly a year now, and honestly have no desire to start again. I was depressed, bored and unmotivated when i was smoking habitually. My memory is better, im more grounded and i dont feel weighed down. It wasnt easy for me to quit, "weed" is a deva but not necessarily a positive one.

Re: Anyone smoke weed every day....and quit for good or for a while??
I grew up in Colorado, smoked pot regularly through high school, from 20 until i was 26 i was about a 2 oz a week smoker. for about two years I added a weekly mushroom trip to my regular smoking routine. I stopped smoking weed when I was 28 until this past January mostly because I had moved from Colorado and weed was not as abundant. I noticed my anxiety and paranoia where at all time highs during the time I was sober my parents father born in 1927 mother born in 1939 both sat me down and had an intervention for me to start smoking weed again as I was not a functioning adult member of society so in January i again started smoking weed first thing I noticed was a far more calm and humorous world view i stopped taking everything to the extreme conclusions. second I got my yard cleaned up and presentable third I came out of my house and found work.. don't know how it is for everyone it may be because of how young i was when i started smoking pot or how long i did it but apparently i function much better with it then without.
And here we are staring at each other through an electronic............ error goto ram

95% of potheads are sigarette smokers.

At least in Europe, quitting weed is a child's game vs quitting sigs.

The real health benefit will come from quitting sigs as well.

Some say they were in a fog or haze. I was really, really good when on pot. I smoked every day for about 10 years.
I work it IT, and when I was stoned, I would blaze (pun) through projects in no time with stellar results.
I had to migrate an exchange server with about 2500 accounts into a virtual environment, and I was like a machine, I knew exactly what to do, and what step was next.
When I had a problem, I knew exactly what to do, and I was able to do it fast.
I quit about 2 years ago, and these days I find I am much slower. Sometimes I need to sit and really think things through. It is like my brain is running much slower.

I stop smoking and my anger increases, smoking makes you laid back easy going, you let shit fly over your head and remain unaffected, then when you stop all those stored emotions and ignored thoughts come rushing back.

I am sick to death of the bullshit and corruption, the crap people do and say, the programming, the mind fucked, the mundanity of it all, push the fucking button, i am a lion kept in a box, smoking helps me forget that, this isn't a good thing i guess, we need to roar more.

I smoked for 10 year, many times a day, KB no garbage. I did well in that world, but am much more productive now. I think that smoking for a long time kills emotions but I have been able to start 3 successful businesses and am much more active/healthy now.

Amen brother.

I just quit smoking in January after being a hardcore stoner for several years.
Immediate Benefits: Save money & time (not having to set aside time to sit down and toke)
Long term Benefits (1 month +): Clearer mind/able to think straight

I'd say one of the most important things is finding something you enjoy doing to occupy the time you would've spent high. For example, I started playing my guitar again because I would always be too high to play haha.
