Got it in one. The problem is the political and 'ruling classes', not the ordinary working stiffs. You have the elites paying sweet SF in taxes whilst demanding more and more cuts from the workers. Fuel and VAT taxes are among the highest in Europe here.

Although the implications of a disorderly default are rather terrifying, I must say part of me (that tiny bit still uncorrupted) hopes Greece tells the financial world to get fucked and goes Iceland. Realistically speaking I doubt it would play out as it does in my fevered imagination.

At the end of the day the bankers must be humbled for the good of mankind. I run a small (very small) private investment firm, so I am a banker too. But I don't act like a complete fucking lawless, infantile retarted tyrannical asshat, the way the big guys do. I can ride the shitstorm out better than most, but even if I have to take a personal hit to make finance more rational, I would be willing to do so. We are approaching the point where rule of law itself is about to vanish in a puff of smoke. That benefits noone but the worst elements of any society.
