RMT test message on phone?

I just got the same message.

Just got the text, I am in the Nashville area, verizon, droid X.

I just got the same message, sorry forgot to say I'm in Illinois.

ya im on verizon android and standing in SAMs club got 2 same thing test etc. western NY. Others in area didn't get it.

gtalk is not standards compliant xmpp but google bastardized. If you facebook you already have XMPP. Adjust "privacy" to allow third party apps. If you care about privacy you would ditch: sms, gmail, facebook.

Yes, I use my android phone WITHOUT a gmail address. Hotmail live provides contacts and calendar. Microsoft licenses ActiveSync to google!

Some phone roms (i.e. Ics4.0....) Are equiped to recieve emergency msgs such as amber alert

I got the same message. Northcentral WI on my Huawei straight talk phone

I might be a little late to this party, but I'm actually on the straight talk plan. I have a Huawei Ascend Droid phone, and I received this message at 3:00PM. Now remember, straight talk is on the sprint towers. Also keep in mind that my phone was on SILENT. No noise was supposed to come out of my phone. None. However, 3:00 rolls around and this terrible noise bursts through my phonem it was as if my phones volume was cranked as well. I looked at my phone, startled as all hell, and it had a star icon in the notification bar, which I had not seen before. I pulled it open, and it said CMAS RMT alert. This is only a test.
I'm gonna be honest right now, if I get any more of these, I am going to be livid.
