YU-55 Likely Impacts the Moon on November 9, 2011!!!
Featured on video is NASA JPL simulation. Note that if the revised orbit information is correct, and the asteroid streaks by earth at 50,000 miles instead of 200,000 miles, then it is almost on a collision course with the moon.

It being 4 times closer should therefore be brighter as it streaks by the earth, easily seen with bioculars. It then moves on toward the moon. Link:

Not sure about that, our limited knowledge of the effects on the moon and ultimately the resulting effects on the earth is what would be concerning..

Hey there are still folks that believe the Earth is the center of the universe and the only planet among trillions that is capable of supporting life.

I saw someone post a dream about that earlier this year, moon debris was hitting the earth all over the place, people were running, many died, things on fire, etc. I'll have to try to find it...

Here it is, from a dream thread on July 20, 2011..

Thread: Ok, heres my elenin dream

Everyone else has given their elenin dream. Heres mine from last night:

Me and some people - I didnt know them - were walking through a forest. Through the trees we could see the sun - it was very bright and it was huge.

As we got to the clearing, we could see not only the sun, but also the moon. In between the sun and moon there were 3 objects and I remember saying or thinking in the dream "they made sun larger so they could hide the objects behind it". They were so close now though that they couldnt be hidden.
I remember the objects were in the same position as the Pyramids and Orion's Belt.

About that time something hit the moon and it exploded. We all started running away as pieces from the moon rained down on us. I got to a phone and, for some odd reason, called my accountants secretary to warn her and I told her #1 it was never supposed to hit the earth, but was supposed to hit the moon and they kept this secret from us and #2 that the reason NASA bombed the moon awhile back was to see what type of affect to the earth this object would have when it hit and was the reason for the weird weather. I also told her the current heat wave was because NASA some how moved the earth out of the objects path, but they had to move us closer to the sun. Weird...

Unlikely, unless the comet would be astronomically large. 400 meters is like a grain of sand to the universe.

The link says "likely" to hit the moon not "certain" to hit, so no, you won't see me here apologizing.

I probably wouldn't have even posted this if that nationwide emergency drill wasn't scheduled for the EXACT same day as this asteroid flyby.

It's not just the size of the asteroid (1/4 mile diameter) that detemines the impact damage. More important is the velocity...and this thing is moving very fast. Most asteroids move at 25,000 mph or more.

If it hits the moon, the energy of the impact is give by:

E=(m)(v)squared

Where E is energy from impact
m is mass of the asteroid
v is velocity of the asteroid

What do you see?
How about 10 billion craters.
How do you think they got there?

Using those calculations, that mean the impact crater would be 6km wide 300m deep, (there is a lot of those on the Moon)

It may be a "grain of sand to the universe" but this asteroid is 1,312 feet long last count (and that is what NASA has told us so it could be larger but who knows)....the Chrysler Building is 1,454 feet tall. That ain't no "grain of sand" to us or the moon for that matter!

Please contact me to let me know you want to join with me to see what happens or see that nothing happens. It's up to us, ya know. ~ F. [link to www.facebo...] [link to www.cosmic...]

Who comes up with this bucket of crap? These scare tactics only frighten those with anxiety issues.... The only positive outcome will be a slight boost in the economy as people rush out to stock up on water, canned food, batteries & flash lights, and candles. What is the worst that "could" happen? I certainly don't want to spend my last 8 days worrying; as a matter of fact I going to max out my credit cards- I won't have to pay that bill :)

something does not set right with what Francis said. He said that YU55 is on a 5 degree upwards climb compared with the earths plane. I looked at the JPL model and don't see it.

[link to ssd.jpl.nasa.gov]

5 degrees would take a pretty steep angle over the earth. the JPL model shows it at a plane that is indistinguishable from earth.

Another thing I noticed was the last ob from NASA was on
last obs. used 2010-04-21
way before its encounter with Comet Elenin which is where Hoagland said it changed.

one more thing I noticed was at parahelion it was equidistant with the sun and the earth.
September 9th it was .653 au from both the sun an the earth.
