I've heard that pipe tobacco is sold without the high cigarette tax and there are types of pipe tobacco that have the same cut as cigarettes. I don't want to quit smoking, but I'm tired of paying $9.00 a pack or $6.00 for a bag of Bugler. Any suggestions? Online retailers.. decent brands, etc?

I buy a 12 ounce bag of Largo pipe tobacco once every two months. For 19.95. Same cut as cigarettes. Been buying bagged tobacco for years, although I'm pretty sure there going to slam taxes on this as well sometime in the future. Pipe tobacco is from the bottom of the barrel. It's not the same grade used for cigarette tobacco. Its nasty. Its what they use for Black and Milds.

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1467637 United States 11/02/2011 01:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation	Re: Using pipe tobacco as cigarette tobacco to avoid tax. oh yeah about 7$ for a cheap slide type roller. 65$ for a better mechanical one. i use the cheapy rollers just fine. mines a gambler, different rollers will work better or worse for you, just find what works, and you can laugh at all the people spending 6$ a pack or more. yes I hear they r goin to slam us with a 50$ per carton/bag of tobacco tax after the new year. time to grow ur own. youll need aprox 24lbs of dried tobacco to get through a year
