Search engines are just the tip of hidden botnets.

I think google has a secret policy for downtime on computers hooked in/to its clouds, it acts like a giant bot net, driving instead of spam to the four corners of the globe, but a/many virtual server/s in the center of clouds, perhaps virtual servers should be classified once they have more than a thousands CPUs powering it as super computers in the same class a crays and University and commercial/government systems.
In effect they probably made a decision that when the human operator of a system is using less than so much resource/s in the users personal system, say based on circadian rhythms as well as night and day and % etc without killing your pc, siphoning of 10-50 % of ram capacity and who knows how much virtual ram., imo.
This is also no doubt done by some ABC,s which are tech orientated.
