Oh, great. An oil spill, property value crash, and now f-ing mob in my favorite vacation spot.

I always thought Brett-Robinson had that place pretty much locked down. What happened? Rooski pockets deeper than Phoenix pockets?

At one point they(Brett-Robinson) did...but after Hurricane Ivan, something evil this way came. And the Russians have much deeper pockets. Mr.Zislin claims to be Israeli, but he isn't. I don't know about Brett-Robinson, but I know for a fact that Meyer Real Estate's owner, Sheila Hodges, has stated that Meyer has basically unlimited funds and credit due to their new financial backer...Mr. Zislin and his associates. Seems strange considering the current state of the economy.

But B-R did get $30 million from BP to finish construction on one of the Phoenix towers that was halted two years prior to the spill...while shrimpers out in Bon Secour still haven't been compensated.

I know that these people bought a lot of beachfront property- both commercial and residential- that changed hands rapidly. The amounts they were sold for were suspicious, as well.

So, what are the consequences here? I know you mentioned them being in bed with the local governments. Are they intimidating locals? Is there other criminal activity going on?

OK, i have been very careful when looking at and posting about this subject. i have many close friends who are jewish, and secretly wish i were:) but you are correct-- just because some very bad people happen to belong to a certain group, doesn't mean the whole group is bad...far from it. and i've been careful about posting on this topic because i know it might prompt a string of anti-semitic rants...and i don't want that. i think people like zislin claim to be jewish/israeli because it provides them with a kind of protection, especially with their operations in south florida. but the fbi has recently sent a task force down there, so now they are slowly infiltrating the surrounding states(like alabama, mississippi, south carolina) where people are too damn stupid to know what is going on. i just want people to know these people are bad so they will not spend their money at certain locations such as The Hangout, The Hangout Music Festival(which draws a crowd of over 35,000 each year), Surf Style and Wings Souvenir Stores, and Meyer Real Estate...I'm sure there are many more.

there are many rumors--from unrelated sources that are all basically the same story- that there is drug trafficking and human trafficking. the drug trafficking, from all i can gather, has something to do with suspicious activity at the jack edwards airport and some of the warehouses out there and starr textile's(meyer real estate) laundry trucks that make runs from gulf shores to new orleans and atlanta. one of these accounts came from one of the truck drivers concerning what was really being transported in the truck he was driving...and it wasn't laundry. the human trafficking is labor trafficking. not only is it morally reprehensible, it affects the local citizens because they are being put out of work...this primarily concerns people in the hospitality industry.

the flora-bama is still owned by locals as far as i know. but the pink pony pub(a gulf shores landmark) was bought by one of zislin's associates.

it is a very old story indeed. but i can't keep my mouth shut when i see people's lives being destroyed.

You must be just as sick if you can even watch one of those sick-flicks. I read an investigator's report about some of the same type films they had to watch to identify some perpetrators, and the same investigator wrote that he had to seek Psychiatric help BECAUSE of what he saw on them.

I know just from that report that I would NEVER watch anything so horrific; seeing something like that would probably turn me into a "Dexter".
