If your smart with computers, please help me!
Hey, I have a LG audio sound bar below my TV. I want to send audio from my laptop to the sound bar so I got a USB/bluetooth dongle...

I have it paired but when I click on 'connect' it wont connect. I tried disabling my realtek laptop speakers also but no avail.

any help why it finds my sound bar but wont connect it? :(

thanks!

You sure the soundbar can accept a signal through the USB, and it's not just a USB hub built in for when it's connected to a laptop as it's intended for.

The USB is to accept file types, not signals. It doesn't work because you have reall got the wonrg idea regarding interconnectivity.

The features of this thing read like a second hand car salesman.

USB - YES!
WiFi - YES!
eZ LoinK - YEAS!

FFS, any hardware manufacturer that places 'you tube' as a 'feature' is totally pandering to MacTards.

I would have tought that connecting your laptop to it would requite an Audio cable, as Audio is incredibly sensitive to latency. Otherwise the guys lips will be moving at a different rate to the sound. If you want it to work like that, plug it straight in. Perhaps try the WiFi, but the latency is not going to be good. Cables all the way with sound.

I just want to play music from my laptop to the sound bar without having to have my plasma tv on running it through fiber optic cable.... I have a fiber optic input, USB input and a small circular 'port in' hole.

oh ya. I use HDMI from laptop to TV, then fiber optic from tv to LG sound bar for sound output. I want to listen to music without having to have my TV on

any ideas?

If your cell phones connecting to it, then that'll be via blue tooth. So you got a blue tooth dongle from your PC so it's blue tooth enabled. Right...

Seems the poblems on the computer end of it. Convoluted setup IMO. Fucking hate Bluetooth, never used it. Have you 'paired' the devices. Can you see on the sound bar when the phone connects? If so, and it's not seeing the laptop, then i guess it's the laptop. it's a fucking Mac Book isn't it.

The TV is providing the interconnectivity, the sound bar is pretty much a dumb device. Phone LG and ask em. Your sound inputs seem to be Fiber Optic, HDMI. Neither really good just for sound. Does it have an audio Input, id just use that.

haha you know what.. that sounds like a real good idea lol. I liked the wireless idea though but that seems like it has to work. I assume the 'port in' small circle on the sound bar is the headphone spot??

edit - yep your right!! its for headphone in says the manual.. thanks. karma for you!

"If one understands that socialism is not a share-the-wealth programme, but is in reality a method to consolidate and control the wealth, then the seeming paradox of super-rich men promoting socialism becomes no paradox at all. Instead, it becomes logical, even the perfect tool of power-seeking megalomaniacs.

Communism or more accurately, socialism, is not a movement of the downtrodden masses, but of the economic elite."

Re: If your smart with computers, please help me!
I found a way to connect my LG soundbar LSB316 to my bluetooth device. I had the same issue before using standard windows drivers for bluetooth. It would pair but would not connect. I found a solution by buying a USB bluetooth device that used a different driver/stack. I bought a AZIO mini bluetooth, AZiO BTD-V201, that comes with Toshiba Bluetooth Stack. When using the windows stack I had issues, but when I installed the Toshiba stack, there were no issues of pairing and connecting. I also just purchased a laptop with a built-in bluetooth. I was also successful of downloading and installing the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack on the laptop, overriding the windows one.

So I believe there are two options, the first is to buy a USB bluetooth adapter with Toshiba Bluetooth Stack, and the other option is to download the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack and install it overriding the windows stack.

After pairing you can choose the soundbar in playback devices of windows. Right click on the speaker icon on windows taskbar to reach playback devices.
