Our friend Clyde Lewis of Ground Zero Media [link to www.groundzeromedia.org] has an emergency request to have the GLPVC Crew on to discuss the EAS alert system test, set for 11/9/11 at 11:00 AM PST / 2:00 PM EST. Last night on Clyde's show, he exclusively talked about GLP and one of GLP's thread in regards to the EAS. Now today we have this "pinned" thread: Thread: Breaking - 11-9-11 FEMA EAS test now shortened to 30 seconds announced minutes ago and Clyde Lewis gets a phone call from his station manager, like WTF did you say last night, and the DHS (Dept of Homeland Security). **NOTE** KXL is a MAIN STREAM NEWS station, and or I should say an regulated FCC station, that must play the EAS alert on that date.

If you experience the Emergency Alert System message for more than five minutes, please do the following:

Power cycle your cable box by unplugging the power cord from the outlet. Learn more about power cycling.
Wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord back in

** You usually dont reboot or recycle unless they downloaded something to your box!!!!!! ** and now that they have shorted the EAS time to 30 secs "unexpectedly" after Clyde made the remarks on his show last night, and his station manager got a call. Anyone on Comcast may have to reboot their cable boxes after 5 mins..... something is not right here..
