Wait 30 seconds and then plug the power cord back in **  You usually dont reboot or recycle unless they downloaded something to your box!!!!!!  ** and now that they have shorted the EAS time to 30 secs "unexpectedly" after Clyde made the remarks on his show last night, and his station manager got a call. The signal comes into the box for the picture. There is also a data stream continuosly flowing into, and out of, the cable box to a computer that is controlled by another computer at the billing company. Thus the billing computer is able to say for instance, add HBO, turn off Showtime, etc. Messages for upcoming free weekends, etc. can, and are sent, as well as local weather, etc. Meaning, something can be downloaded to your box anytime. But, unlike a computer getting hacked, there's no where for some hidden info to go to other than the cable box. |
