Then again, the prisons are full of innocent people who if they had been on camera at the time of the 'offense', they never would have been charged much less convicted. With people like you in the world, maybe it's necessary. If you're not doing anything wrong, why would you care? Jacking off or bopping your old lady might be 'private moments' but is using this as an excuse enough to argue against a measure that could ensure the conviction of the guilty and the exoneration of the innocent? We now have the technology to prevent most crimes, because very few people are going to commit a crime when they know conviction is automatic and inevitable. The question you have to ask, is the trade off of losing the few moments when you feel personal privacy is a necessity worth it? You piss in a public place, being naked is really no big deal, most of us have showered in public places in the nude, WHY is 'privacy' so necessary? To conceal wrongdoing! If you've ever been accused of a serious crime you didn't commit , you might have a far different attitude. Many times criminal cases are decided by eyewitness accounts, and eyewitnesses are notoriously unreliable and dishonest, with agendas of their own. We already have cameras just about every where we go, and I swear there have been times when I wish my own house was under 24 hour surveillance by cameras. People lie, cameras don't. It comes down to what is more important, the privacy of people like yourself who have things they want to hide, or justice being served in an efficient and unimpeachable manner. I vote for cameras for the simple reason the benefits far outweigh what little uncomfortable loss of privacy we might suffer. |
