United States 11/04/2011 03:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Another Surprising Source for Black Mold Just a heads up. You've probably heard about the "black mold" threat from your dishwasher but this one had me grossed out. Accidentally found the nasty stuff packed under the rubber insulation rims of my kid's thermos. Only way to really get it out is with toothpicks or bamboo skewers. Also some on the very inside of the lid. And yes, we run the thermos through the dishwasher daily. Just to be on the safe side, I think we'll soak it in bleach for a while. |

United States 11/04/2011 05:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Another Surprising Source for Black Mold You misunderstand. Since the mold was under the rim, we had no idea it was there. We will now be soaking it in bleach every so often as a precaution. We suspect that this would happen to EVERY thermos, regardless of how many new ones we buy. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4631000 First, you miss the point of the entire post. This is simply a public service announcement designed to help people protect themselves against this type of mold which has been known to cause illness and, in rare occurrences, even death. Second, if your IQ level was actually larger than your jock strap size, you'd realize I said that the mold was on the inside rubber rim -- making it impossible to see unless you lift it up. Why do I even bother . . . |
