You left out Orthodox. I was raised Greek Orthodox, but now am Gnostic. Left that one out, too.

I voted Christian. I feel however the poll is flawed in that 'baptist' and 'catholic' are both sub-groups of Christianity.

I'm not sure what it means exactly, but "new age spiritual" seemed closest I guess.

for Lutherans I called it Catholic Lite when I attended... I got tired of the Gay-Marriage bashing and had to take a break...there's a lot of real Evil in the world causing pain to our fellow humans is just missing the point imo

I follow the model of Jesus and believe in God...I don't believe they are one in the same. I think it's blasphemous to place Jesus above God.

I don't know, but since we're "going there" I will say I think it's pretty telling/means something when someone will say they're, for example, "Catholic" instead of choosing "Christian". Might have been different if the poll was "denomination of Christian", but it wasn't. Very interesting.

That statement is a keen observation from someone outside of the common framework of the majority of humanity, HOWEVER it does not mean that religion has no purpose. It is what it is, an observation.

I don't subscribe to any religious belief system, but I had to throw in my 2 cents here.

"I and my father are one" does not necessarily mean they are a single entity.

For example, "I and my WIFE are one", meaning my wife and I are of the same mind, same philosophy, a united front in most areas, on the same team, on the same page, we have each others' back.....and yet we are two distinctly different entities. In fact, I believe the bible even says that when a woman and a man marry, "they will become as one".

I don't intend to open an argument on this subject...I will leave that to you religious zealots, but I did want to offer a different interpretation to the AC.

I was raised Baptist, but after being beat on for many years by a devout Church of Christ follower who used to preach on Sundays, I kinda just fell away from all organized religion.
