Why on Earth was there ever a kid's show called "Blue Peter". WTF??

Thanks for the info :) I think it was the name of a ship or something because I remember a blue silhouette of a ship as the program's insignia. Fuck knows why it was blue. And come to think of it, fuck knows why it was Peter. it's a shame Jim didn't say 'get down Shep' a bit more!
