Has anyone else seen a meteorite earlier today?
At about 1530 gmt I saw a meteorite passing from south to north. It lasted for about 5 sec and before it passed the horizon it was extinguished. It was burning and it had a flaming trail. It was on a dark sky. Wish I had a video camera. Are those things reported in any website? Has anyone else witnessed the same event? thanks

So nobody has seen anything? I don't know the difference between a meteorite and a fireball but that thing was something. And def nor a shooting star.

You saw a meteor.

It's not a meteorite until it hits the ground.

OK, so you're saying it hit the ground and bounced back up there and then he saw it?

just because he didn't see it land does not make it NOT a meteorite. In fact, the vast majority of meteorites are not observed falls, but finds.

are you saying finds are not meteorites?

He didn't say he saw it land now did he.

Could YOU people just use the correct terminology so you don't confuse the issue?

When he saw it it was a meteor.

AFTER it hits the ground it's a meteorite.

It's not that hard.
