Do a web search for Salmon +Virus and you might be able to find the article. |

It's entrance from the ocean is smack in the middle of a mega-city (Vancouver/Richmond/Burnaby/Surrey/Etc)- This sort of thing: [link to upload.wikimedia.org] So if them salmon are comin in from the ocean and have to pass through the crap metropolises leave behind.. yea, no wonder there's much less of em |

Our ex-premier Gordon Campbell (a.k.a Scambell) is Bilderberger scum who was recently "rewarded" with a post as British High Commissioner for his services in stealing the provinces resources. His equally corrupt brother is heavily-invested in these Frankenfish farms and now both levels of govt. are threatening the biologists to shut them up about the lethal virus and where it came from. Sadly typical of how things are run up here (and all over it looks like.) |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 959281 Canada 01/04/2012 01:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You got to be fucking kidding, the BC coast used to be covered in factories processing salmon for global sales, the harbors were full of boats catching salmon, every man and his dog were out at weekends, catching salmon. And now they have a fucking inquiry into where they have all gone??? These government assholes couldn't put 2+2 together without getting 5. I'll give you a clue.........WE ATE THEM ALL, EVERY FUCKING ONE OF 'EM. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 904314 Canada 01/04/2012 01:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Certainly easier to blame the fish farms out in the ocean, no where near Fraser River heh. But those weren't around in the timeframe the OP's article is discussing, ie 1900 to 2009 Coincidentally, civilization sunk it's dirty hands even deeper at the end of said river, during that timeframe. Hmm. |

Sadly typical of how things are run up here (and all over it looks like.) I should add that the river referred to here runs right by my window so I take an interest in it and have been following this for years. Overfishing and increasing water temperatures are partly to blame but most of the devastation appears to be due to this virus, to which wild salmon have no natural immunity. Millions of salmon simply fail to return to the rivers to spawn which suggests that they are dying at sea. A year or two ago we had a large run but most years lately have been poor. |
