OKAY, THIS IS OFFICIALLY RIDICULOUS! Tornadoes and Earthquakes at the same time? | |

| Okie (OP) User ID: 4818735 11/07/2011 10:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Internet is still up, satellite though is completely kerflooey. It's not particularly frightening or anything... Well, except for my wife, and her family especially who keep calling convinced we're all about to die. And okay, that part is at least funny actually. The storm part's kinda nice to go to sleep in. Rain pounding against the windows and rumbling thunder and I'll be out... until the phone rings with the latest grapevine forecast of impending weather doom. The earthquake was a heckuva kicker to a pretty nice evening of storms though. Kind of like extra jalapenoes on a slice of cheesecake. It's something you can at least have experienced, maybe got a kick out of, but don't necessarily wish to order again. Anyway, kids are all home so whatever happens happens. In the meantime, might as well enjoy the whole show, right? |

| Okie (OP) User ID: 4818735 11/07/2011 10:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My apologies I wasn't laughing at the situation, but at the OP's sense of humour/style of writing. Quoting: Ha Moshiach 1500923 And the fact that I could name a few movies that start like that...:-/ Heck, the situation is laughable. I'm laughing at it. This isn't real-life anymore, it's a disaster-pic parody or a sci-fi channel blockbuster. Either way, big on effects and low on story and acting. Though if it's a comedy, maybe that's okay? I'm enjoying myself immensely actually. My wife on the other hand has informed me that singing Skeeter Davis' "Don't They Know It's the End of the World" is now banned for the rest of the evening. Some people just don't appreciate classical music or irony ;) |

I'm sitting here, in the middle of a thunderstorm with the lightning flashing and thunder crashing outside when... the house starts shaking. Not from the storm, but from another 4.7 mag quake. Quoting: Okie I mean seriously??? What kind of doomish mix is this anyway??? It's damned silly now at this point. Quake: [link to earthquake.usgs.gov] Storms: [link to www.newson6.com] Again... it's just gotten silly now. It's funny, I was saying this morning to my coworker what do we do if there is a massive earthquake and tornado at the same time. You can't stay inside and you can't go out. |
| Okie (OP) User ID: 4818735 11/07/2011 10:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | does this circle that showed up on radar 23 hours ago have anything to do with the storm? i thought it might be significant so i recorded it. its was over Iowa for about 10 minutes. is it HAARP? Quoting: registered user I have no idea. They've been predicting this storm chance since last week though. It's good, we seriously need the rain. Of course, if the ground cracks up and it all drains down into the abyss, it's not going to make a lick of difference anyway I guess. |
| Dark Match Jones User ID: 1255615 11/07/2011 10:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yeah, I'm not a "Doomtard", but EQs and Tornadoes simultaneously is just fucked up. "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know tomorrow." |

Quoting: DoodleBug I just lost trees among other things and it's an absolute toad strangler. So beware and stay safe I'm up in Osage County, about 45 miles NW of Tulsa along the Arkansas River. We had a lot of heavy rain, some small hail, and some really impressive, and close, bolts of lightning with the accompanying explosions of thunder. Heckuva pyrotechnic show. I sat here in my office on the second floor of the house with the blinds all open and the lights off watching it. My favourite program when I can get it ;) Looking at the radar it appears the heaviest has moved through and another moderate band is maybe an hour away. Considering I took a good shot of Nyquil before coming back online (the power went off for just a bit) I imagine anything else tonight I'll sleep right through. |

| Okie (OP) User ID: 4898326 11/07/2011 11:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It may have been, actually. A lot of friends and relatives kind of, well... panic might be a tad strong but were a little more than concerned. They don't like storms anyway, tornado chances set them further over that edge, then when the ground shook right in the middle of it all that was pretty much enough to set them completely tumbling helplessly out-of-control over that edge. Me, I was too busy thinking, "now man, that's definitely a new experience you don't get every day", which naturally tickled me to no end and set me to grinning. Grinning and maybe a little laughing was obviously the WRONG reaction to people who are convinved they're about to meet their makers. I'm not sure why, because honestly, if that had been the case, I'd have felt pretty good about getting a fairly unique way to go out. That observation also was NOT what one should apparently say at that time to certain people either. Nor singing "Don't they know, it's the end of the world", even if it happens to stick in your head for no apparent reason beyond your subconcious deciding to enjoy the moment as well and to maybe "innocently" tweak the strings of those who aren't so much. SINCEDUTCH.wordpress.com 1. scroll down until you see HAARP in Oklahoma. 2. scroll down until you read about the earthquakes caused by fracking! Epicenters smack-dab in the middle of the oil fields! I saw HAARP rings all over the mainstream/cable TV weather map while at a friend's for dinner this evening! It was SOOOOOOOOO obvious! |
