This seems pretty scary. I imagine Alaska must get some fairly mean storms every year. For this to be hurricane like and 'worst storm in history' - well, all I can say is hang in there Alaska and I hope its not as bad as they say.

When I first read the title, I thought it was raining bears, which would definitely make it the worst storm in history.

is anyone watching the direction its blowing in from?

Article issued yesterday said Alaska and Washington to expect worst of radiation (read: Pacific Northwest). Hawaii possibly as well but far less chance. This was from local Hawaii government. Can't post link, on mobile phone. Google it.

Beyond 72 a new gale is to be falling from the the extreme Eastern Bering Sea into the Gulf of Alaska Tuesday AM (11/8) with 35 kt northwest winds forecast generating a 22 ft seas up at 48N 158W and falling southeast. In the evening 35 kt northwest winds to continue falling southeast into a new developing low pressure center wrapping up just off the Washington Coast. Seas 22 ft at 45N 151W from previous fetch. Wed AM (11/9) a full broad gale is to be circulating with 30-35 kts winds 600 nmiles off the coast of Oregon and Cape Mendocino. Seas 20 ft and building at 38N 143W. 40 kt north winds to hold in the gales north quadrant (off Oregon) Wed PM with 22 ft seas building there (44N 140W). The gale and fetch is to fall south on Thursday AM with most fetch 800 nmiles off Cape Mendocino at 40 kts aimed southeast with seas to 29 ft tracking down the outer coast at 40N 140W. In the evening the fetch is to still be 35 kts but falling due south with near 30 ft seas at 35N 138W targeting no land mass. Sideband swell likely for the Central CA coast. with maybe some energy wrapping into Southern CA. But this system is still a ways from forming and the details on it's forecast will likely change.

And yet another gale is to push off Kamchatka on Fri-Sat (11/12) with 35-40 kt west winds and 29 ft seas forecast. But it is way too early to believe this yet.

There was a great screen capture that was liked by Dutchsinse on YouTube but I can no longer find it from a couple days ago showing some pretty substantial HAARP activity in Alaska. This is probably man made.. Has anyone seen the video in which I am referring to? I would love if someone could post a link... I'll keep trying to find it too.

interesting tid bit, remember 9/11, and the hurricane that did not get much attention and was just off the East Coast that day.... now we have this storm bearing down on Alaska off the Aleutian Islands (where this Tsunami or PacWave2011 is suppose to take place in virtual time)..... and the Google X spot

Just announced on KWHL that there is a storm coming into the Aleutian chain. They said something about a 10ft tidal surge just from the storm alone and that they haven't seen a storm this bad since 1974. Coincidence. North Pacific Excercise tomorrow, asteriod today, storm announcement today. Emergency test tomorrow. BTW I am in Anchorage right now and it's beautiful, clearest blue sky and about 9 degrees F. Dropped about 10 degrees since the snow storm yesterday.

We should get the effects of this storm in Southcentral starting tomorrow afternoon.

I do recall a bigger low back in the late 70s, I think it was? 925 millibars in the Gulf of Alaska.

We do get really big winds but seldom get national press about it.....but this is an effing monster and I am so glad I am not in a village along that coastline!

PS I read some reports earlier this morning that put seas at 30 feet, plus storm surge of up to 9 feet.

Really huge seas are not unknown there, but the size of this storm just boggles the mind!

and in alaska is where the most powerful haarps are. seems like they want people to move away from alaska more so they can keep doing those "experiments" they are doing
