APEC in Hawaii

For those of you who don't know, the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) conference, is being held in Hawaii this year. Being from Hawaii, and not sure if many people are actually reporting local accounts or news on APEC on GLP yet, I figured I'd give you all a quick update on the events that have already occurred surrounding APEC, which kicked of yesterday morning. Understand that they are shutting down major portions of Waikiki and Honolulu throughout the duration of the conference. A few days before APEC started, a federal agent shot and killed a local in Hawaii. The agent was specifically assigned to Hawaii to be part of the APEC conference.

Another incident is an underground gas leak that occurred yesterday afternoon, during the start of the conference. Last I checked, they were still trying to locate the reason and source of the leak.
