Catalina Chicken

-Cut up chicken pieces in a roaster or crock pot.
-Carrots
-Slice potatoes 1/4 size to add.
-Cut up onions

(Make all veggies equal size to your chicken pieces except carrots, they take longer to cook.]

Mix together and pour KRAFT Catalina dressing on top, spice with you're favorite.

Cover and bake till golden.

*chicken pieces mean legs, thighs, breats FYI

Cheese Sauce for Cauliflower/broccoli

Another recipe everyone loves of mine.

Steak dinner and you want a veggie to go with.

Cauliflower boiled till you can stick a fork in. Not Mush.

Melt a tbsp of butter (real butter)
2 tbsp of cheese whiz

When melted, add milk and get hot enough to add a tbsp of flour.

Best part that everyone freaks about my cheese sauce...

Add dill weed to your cheese sauce.

Total meal:

BBQ steak
Cauliflower/Cheese Sauce
Baked Potato

A cheese cake can make the end. I'll post that after.

Re: The GLP Chat Room Recipe Thread.
Kloudnine's Sweet and Sour Chicken of DOOM!

1. Cut thawed out chicked breast into small bite sized chuncks.

2. Dip chicken into a bowl with 2 pre-beaten eggs.

3. Remove egg covered chicken bits into a bowl of flour , make sure all the surface area of the chicken is covered with flour or you'll fail.

4. Heat a pan of olive oil or your choice of oil , medium heat will do nicely. When heated cook your chicken untill the center of the bits are white.

5. Remove your cooked chicken bites from the oil onto a plate of paper towels to absorbe excess oil. (coffee filters work aswell)

6. In a small saucepan add 1:1 amounts of vinegar and ketchup. Then add around 4 spoon fulls of sugar more of less depending on your taste.

7. Cook sauce untill vinegar is evaporated and sauce is thick like syrup.

8. Now poor the finished sauce over your finished fried chicken bites and EAT UP! YUMMY! : D

0. Altertitively you can chop up some bellpeppers , onions , and chilie peppers and add then to the sauce once you have sauteed then.

0.1 Any kind of rice is great with this , just pour the finished chicken over the rice and then the sauce.

Re: The GLP Chat Room Recipe Thread.
Here is one of my favorite sauces..

Parmesan Cheese Sauce

1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil (really any kind of fat. Butter, Bacon fat)
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk or cream
1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder (optional)

Preparation
1. Melt butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle 2 Tbsp. flour, and garlic powder into melted butter, whisking constantly. Cook unitl golden.

2. whisk in 1 cup milk or cream, and bring to a boil. Cook 1 to 2 minutes, or until thickened.

3. Add Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper, whisking until smooth.

You can also use a mix of cheeses. mozzarella, cream cheese, and parmesan mix is really good too.

Re: The GLP Chat Room Recipe Thread.
Since we all have to rotate our DOOM stockpile of provisions.

Noodles of DOOM

Will easily make 2 persons Wharf.

1 cup of reconstituted mixed vegetables (or fresh/frozen)
8 oz of reconstituted (or fresh) meat or other protien.
2 "cup O Noodles" or other brand of instant noodles.
1 package "Ramen" type noodle or other brand.
3.5 cups clean water.

Boil the water to a rolling boil.

Take the "Cup O Noodles" remove the outer packaging and without opening the top, crush the inner contents by CAREFULY squeezing the contents between your hands to a suitable size.

Take Ramen Noodles
Without opening the bag, and using your hands, crush the Ramen noodles CAREFULY with your fingers until they are a size you like. Don't crush them into small pieces, just bite size pieces.

Open the Ramen Noodle bag and remove the flavor packet. Open the packet and put the flavor packet contents in the boiling water.

Do this very quickly...
Put the Mixed Vegetables in the boiling water.
Put the Meat or Protien in the boiling water.
Put 1/2 of the Ramen Noodles in the boiling water.
REMOVE FROM HEAT SOURCE
Put the Cup O Noodles in the water.
Stir, Cover, and Wait about 10 minutes.

Serve with a straining type spoon.

They are just as good going down, as they are comming back up! Wharfericious.

Try not to indulge in too much of the liquid, it is really salty.

There you have it, NOODLES OF DOOM - remember to rotate your survival pantry.

SALMON CROQUETTES

1 Can salmon
1 half of a medium onion
1 stalk celery
2 eggs
1 square tube of crackers (stale is more then ok)
2 TBS yellow mustard
pepper and salt

Salmon, separate the bones and and grey tissues as best you can. Tons of health but this is a recipe and not a health thread.

Mince the celery and the onion with a food processor.

Add the minced celery and onions, salmon, eggs, mustard and enough crackers to soak up the liquid content. A little cracked pepper and salt to taste. Mix by hand and try not to overwork the salmon. If over-mixed it results in a mush which is not good.

Heat a few TBS of oil over medium heat (your choice olive/vegetable/etc). Fashion into 2 inch patties kept thin and drop directly into the oil.

Yield..Expect about 20 from a single can if made small and crispy.

peace

The rough equivalent of a crab cake but with salmon.
