What time is YU55 going to hit the moon 11-9-11 ?? (or the earth)

Actually the closest approach to the moon has not happened yet, according to NASA jpl data it will happen at around 2:14am eastern time.

even if it did hit the moon, the crater left behind might be visible with a telescope.

it's impact would pale in comparison to past impacts that have hit the moon.

Some of those craters up there are hundreds of miles across.

If it did hit, you might be able to see a small flash of light ( if you are looking at it with a scope ) and the resulting crater would be a baby compared to others up there.

just one of the thousands of craters already there.
