They make a rectangle deep dish pizza that reminds me of Pizza Hut's old deep dish recipe. Quoting: hotntexas I will have to check it out, I just googled it and theres one about 10 miles away. I hope its reminiscent of pizza hut as you say because i relly miss that old crust |

Quoting: indiandave Exactly. I don't understand why anyone would get pizza from a chain. The best is always from independently owned shops. I have not had Pizza Hut pizza in years. Don't understand why anyone would order from them to begin with. No good deed goes unpunished. |

I know nothing can beat going out once in a while, but if you're really missing it there are copycat recipes out there that work really well. Just let the dough rise in a Chicago style pizza pan (I used a cake pan just fine) coated with oil. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4113846 United States 11/09/2011 09:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Pizza Hut is absolutely DISGUSTING. I haven't eaten it in years, but the last time I did (and I mean the LAST time), it was a tasteless mish-mash of absolutely...nothing. I mean, the cheese: TASTELESS. The veggies: TASTELESS. The crust: WAS ok--not now from what I hear. When I was a child, Pizza Hut served THE best-tasting PIZZA ever!!! It was LOADED with flavor and the cheese stretched FOREVER! Not anymore... Now I buy an organinc pizza made by Amy's. It has a LOT of yummy flavor and the cheese and tomatoe sauce is absolutely delicious. They do offer a soy-based pizza too in place of cheese, but I don't eat soy so I just buy their pizza with the real cheese. As for Pizza Hut: they should just go out of business. |

PH is the only sit-down pizza we have in our town, so we've been taking our daughter every couple of months or so (she's 3 and likes pizza). It tastes NOTHING like it used to. OMG. When I was 4 or 5 and had my first PH pizza, it was SOOOOOOOO good. Now, it is rather cardboardy. The wings aren't bad, though. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1453422 United States 11/09/2011 01:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All Pizza chains have turned to rubbish. The cheese and tomato sauce is still pretty good, but the dough hasn't been the same since 1995. It tastes like cracker dough. I'm pretty sure the removal of gluten has had an effect on it's taste too. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4261893 Domino's has change their menu recently, so we tried it. Pretty good. 3 mediums, one topping, not bad for a quickie. |

I remember it being a grease fest then. If Pizza Hut goes out of business, I won't miss it. Pray this prayer to blind Satan: [link to flameoflove.us (secure)] |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4764790 United States 11/10/2011 07:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | pizza hut never made pizza , they fried dough in a pan after slopping sauce and cheese on it and called it a "pizza". that buttery shit was whirl or something similiar as tasty and addictive as popcorn butter right out of the squirt bottles. same shit dominos used in pan pizza , when they stopped using it pan pizza sales dropped off markedly. |

You're darn right Pizza Crud changed their flagship product recipe, ie, the Pan Pizza! It used to have a slightly greasy, crispy crust and, for a chain pizza joint, it was out of this world! About 10 years ago, they changed the recipe, and now it tastes like an airy cloud with no flavor, combined with a wet sponge. It's awful. And guess what? Five Pizza Huts within 10 miles of my house have gone out of business in the last 6 years! And I live in a prosperous demographic area. (They're awful delivery outlets seem to be doing just fine though.) I don't know among them which is worse: Pizza Crud, Dumpinoes, or Slapa John's! |

Six Six Six User ID: 3753361 United States 06/09/2012 05:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Have you noticed it or is it just my city. Remember that buttery crust that was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Its gone, it has been replaced by processed cardboard!! I have the inside scoop on what happened. Pizza Hut has a corporate office in Plano TX and someone I went to high school with works there in a high position. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1493908 Lastnight I posted on my facebook how bad the pizza tasted and I said it didn't taste the way i remember it as a kid. Lots of people chimed in, and then I saw the red indicator at the top of my screen. It was the person I went to high school with. She sent me a personal message and said blame papa johns for taking a majority of their customers for a lower price. Pizza hut has had to cut a lot of expenses so they are using frozen dough now that is MASS PRODUCED in a factory that also has contracts with WONDER BREAD LOL!!! She said they were using Bob Reeds Mill flour, organic powdered milk, and the tomatoes were also organic!! Well the flour is really expensive, I buy it every now and then, it is also organic and expensive but now the frozen crust is using ole fashioned self rising flour. She said the old pizzas were on average 3.77 to make but now the cheap ones are 1.12 on average to make. Poor Pizza hut!!! Who'da thunk it, Pizza Hut can't afford to make their raw organic dough anymore LOL!!! For those of you who were wondering if the dough changed, it has! THE FINAL SIGN HAS BEEN REVEALED! THE 7TH SEAL HAS BEEN BROKEN! The earth is doomed. The end is nigh. Pizza hut has... changed it's CRUST!?! OMFG! No. NO. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Biko |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 17192305 United States 06/09/2012 06:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | They changed the sauce recipe back in the 80's. I used to LOVE pizza hut pizza, but they tried to make a "healthier, tomatoeer" sauce and it sucked. Too bad they never went back to the old recipe. The first time I had a pizza hut pizza, back in the early 70's, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. |
