A lot of us who are still in your youthful years can already see how fucked up this world is, imagine what your view on the world is after living on it for 80+ years.

You see a lot crazy shit over that period of time.

Well,

I remember my precious grandmother. She died at 97. She was a nice, classy woman; never rude.

She saw a lot and lived through 2 world wars and the first great depression.
She was a gem.

Perhaps the OP is simply being petty and feeling entitled to having others move out of her way regardless of the elderly person’s physical capabilities. Instead of feeling so damn entitled how about showing some compassion for the elderly after all you might reach their age one day.

I'd say to cut this one some slack. Unless you know that she does this all the time (eyewitness) then just forget it. That or trip the fatty and laugh, but I'd suggest you just let it go.

I am prob a bit hard on the "fatties" but you have to at least look after your body.

I've met many, many, many fabulous old people!

But there definitely is something special about the crotchety old farts. Like the brain-mouth barrier is just GONE.

I was at a Publix once, long ago (grocery store in FL), and these two elderly little ladies came inside. I was standing in line waiting to pay, and watched them walk up to the last shopping cart inside.

They were both sweet looking little old ladies. Dressed in their stereotypical sweet old lady clothes and carrying big handbags. I thought nothing of it until they reached the cart at the same time.

They did a little tug of war with each other, getting madder and madder. Then one of them takes her big old handbag and wallops the other on the head with it!

"Let go of my cart, you BITCH!" she screams at the top of her lungs.

They started pulling each other's hair a few seconds later.

I was all like,

Those two little old 'sweet' ladies disillusioned me on old people for all time.

next time notify the store in advance, tell them just exactly who you are, and what time you will be arriving that way, i'm sure the management will endeavor to clear every aisle of any person who might be aged, obese, or infirm.... for your shopping convenience.

Cause people are rude. It used to happen to be all the time in a city nearby that I used to frequent, visiting friends. Id go to the mall there (Glendale, Ca), and no one ever got out of your way when you walked by.

They seriously would do just that, and mow you over, run right into you. I told my friends if they want to get together they can come to my side of town. I wont visit that city anymore. Everyone is rude.

I do that shit all the time (especially in Supermarkets)...my kids think I'm nuts/rude but honestly...just so focussed on something else that it never hit me that other people are around sometimes even if I bump into them. And...by the time it registers....well you cant chase after people 20 seconds after the oops!

If I'm with my kids they usually push me out of the way or say MUMM! move out the way/watch out for that person.

Was she actually elderly, or just middle-aged?

When I was young I noticed lots of fat women were hostile.

Many fat old women USED to be thing, young blonde babes. Some of them were thin, young redhead babes. Others, brunettes. Keep telling yourself you're immune, grasshopper.

I don't think I'd judge an entire group of people by the actions of one or even several. Like someone already said, age doesn't make one a saint necessarily. Also remember that many elderly have dementia or some other cognitive issues and can't help doing what they do.
