DoorBert (OP) User ID: 857877 United States 11/10/2011 06:19 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Possible risk areas for a large quake: 1) West-Coast from California to Washington. 2) Iran Is there any pattern here which might help define upcoming large-scale seismicity in the next several days? There does appear at least in the past several lunar cycles for strong earthquakes to concentrate near subsolar and antisolar longitudes. In the current case this concentrates in the region of California along the central coast north to Washington State. In the past the region off the coast of Oregon appears to have strong earthquakes associated with the full moon, so this is certainly a possibility as is more activity in the Berkeley area north to the Geysers. A light earthquake in these areas yesterday may indicate some stress available for rupture at this time. In the eastern hemisphere the maximum at 57E includes eastern Iran and portions of the Indian Ocean. An earthquake in northeastern Iran yesterday may suggest an upcoming larger event in this region as well. The area of Japan appears to be commonly triggered at the time of full moons, so a moderately large event in this region is likely in the next several days as is further activity in central Chile an New Guinea/Bismarck Sea. Quoting: DanG 1487452 really M1 ? an M1 is NOTHING. why do you tards get so horny about this shit, wake me up for an Earth Directed X10+ otherwise From what I have learned the flare size has nothing to do with the size of the cme or intensity of g storm. Matter o fact cam have cme without a flare. Let me know if I'm wrong( with evidence). Check solar watch thread for info. |

It's a huge CME coming. Let's hope it blows up all the big transformers and give us the so expected THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS!!! |

We had a M4 flare on Oct 22 and a CME followed. The CME was partially earth directed and looked what happened. Over 30 states witnessed red auroras. Last Edited by OVRANALYZE on 11/10/2011 07:40 AM |

A flare and CME had cleared the way and then the killer CME was released. If the CME that created the Carrington Event was to hit us today, we would be fine, sort of. It is way to dynamic to judge from such a simple flare rating. It was the prior CME that allowed the next one to travel MUCH faster and then compressed up against the back side of the prior CME. What happened was the CME hit faster, harder and was more well formed in the front of the shock wave. A well placed, well formed weaker CME can bring the grid down. It's like artillery will kill you fast, but a 22 can do it too. |

Ionosphere has continued to degrade since then. Hey DoorBert, great video. +karma your way. I'm tired of waiting, somebody push the damn button already!
