MEDIA SPIN ***SANDUSKY*** is the Pedophile NOT PATERNO | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1527796 United States 11/10/2011 07:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Sandusky should be put away forever. Paterno should have been fired, as should the other adminstrators who the grad assistant spoke with, for failing to go the the authorities. Why did Sandusky "retire" in 99? Hmmm? He was not that old. Because his activities were known, and most likely known to Paterno, and they were not comfortable with him being a coach any longer. But they were not going to turn him in or take away locker room privileges.... |

Gratia Plena User ID: 1220977 United States 11/10/2011 07:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My biggest problem with the finger-pointing is that no one is focusing on the MANY other witnesses who saw things and didn't do anything. Paterno (supposedly) didn't even see it, but was told about it by others, but the media is focusing only on him. What about the guy who saw Sandusky going to town on some young boy in the shower? He still has his job! Ridiculous. EVERYBODY needs to be treated fairly as the heads start rolling. Yes, heads should be rolling, but not just JoePa's. Why didn't the actual witnesses go to the police, and why do they still have their jobs? I just get the feeling that the university is trying to damage control rather than truly make attempts to correct a horrible wrong. If they care so much about dictating morality, then the house needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. Hopefully that happens, but all I see so far is them trying to protect their precious image. |

Then everyone says, "Well, well, well, Joe went to the A.D.!" And after the AD was clearly going to do nothing for further investigate...? Hello. Fire 'em all. You can't justify Joe, or any of them, for not taking this up with the proper authorities. Not some people only concerned about their football program making money. |

Quoting: Gratia Plena Yes, JoePa. If you accept the big money and the perks that go with being head of a big time program, then you better go directly to the cops when one of your long time coaches (who "retired" at a young age a few years earlier) is reported to be doing something with a kid in the showers. In fact, anyone should do this, even if they are night manager at a 7-11. |

Why the hell wouldn't they call the police right away when they witnessed anal rape on a child? Or beat the shit out of the rapist? And why don't they get the same treatment as JoePa? Only one man there who had the living legend clout to keep the authorities from becoming involved. And who wants to get sideways with a living legend? Not a good reason for those others, and they should be vilified, but that is not how the media works - they are going to focus on the big dog. |

For those in power, it was protecting one of their own. For those underneath, it was fear. |

I think someone is talking and wanting some form of immunity and are naming names. Paterno wouldn't do this unless he was involved in this. [link to openchannel.msnbc.msn.com] [link to www.s8int.com] “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.” Quote from Joseph Goebbels Hitlers propaganda man. |
